Leaching is where you display an image instead of linking offsite to it. I don't think it really applies to shortcuts/links.

Besides using your scenario The Imports Forum is leaching also. They didn't create these links.

we're all sensitive in our own little ways, for you we could just start talking about censoring the forums and im guessing we'd get a similar reaction

but like the best multicultural societies thats what makes us great, whilst we may not agree with each others beliefs and principles we accept and respect them 8)

and as for leeching, most humour links on forums come from other forums, the only time you need to link is when its copyrighted material (eg a review or article or someone elses hard work). for pictures, well its good practice to host pictures you want to use yourself or at an image hosting site so as to not waste the original sites bandwidth.
