Sort of.

The DC will probably come out if / when the movie is a big box-office hit overseas. :)

I mean:

If the movie DOES work overseas and makes big money, then the producers might allow Tsui to release his DC.

I meant it wont be a hit anyway :D people are sick of these silly fantasy action wilms full of CGI crap, and the fact its cut soo much puts me off soo much :( it looks nice, but I just dont want to have to buy it again.

So has anyone seen this yet?

Oh wait I have :D . I saw it in BKK last Monday (with a choice of Thai, Chinese or English subs :D ). You guys are going to love it. It's fan-bloody-tastic.

It reminded me of a Chinese "Musa: The Warrior" (which apparently bombed big style in Korea. I can't think why).

It's in Mandarin with some Korean (Donnie Yen speaking Korean was funny. I think it's dubbed, not sure though). The sword action, of which there is many is excellent. Especially Donnie Yen.

Overall top film, it was a little hard to follow at times (small English subs because of the 3 sets of subs on display) but otherwise great.

When the 4 hour cut turns up I may bother, no way I will watch it with all that cut out of the film, its sad to cut films so badly.

Yeah but I saw it on the big screen, big difference!

You sound surprised. Surely you know every single film is cut before it's released. It's called editing 8) .

The worrying trend is footage being cut deliberately to create a SE later on.

Why were you not against the theatrical LOTR films, going by that logic Romero? 8)

Err because I knew they were not cut to hell before release. They were an afterthought. BIG DIFFERENCE. Most films now are made, then they think hey yes lets rip people off and cut the film so its shit, then later we can re-release the real thing and make more cash. Kingdom of Heaven Indeed!!!!!!!!

Do any of the extras on the HK or Korean DVDs have English subs? No other country has released a DVD yet right?

If not I'll wait for an English subbed extras friendly DVD. I'll get this but am not in any huge rush.

I'll get the Seven Swords Extended Cut the same time I get the Terminator 3 Extended Cut :D

Bollocks.

It may not have been Jackson who wanted them cut (originally) but they were cut before their theatrical run, plus it's clear from the 4 disc set he held footage back to make more money out of an ubrer 4 disc box set.

Wow cool. Which one? Cheers. Any reviews?

I may get the standard 2 discer then after all. It's bound to be cheaper than the Korean DVD. No DTS though :( , missed opportunity.

Like I said I'm in no rush. I can wait.

According to the DVDRama.com french review, it's the gala premiere newsclip that isn't subbed.

Video and Audio quality are top-notch on the HK DVD.

That sounds like an awesome extra = NOT!

So that review says everything else has English subs?

Nice cheers Tom.

I liked the film, but it went on too long with silly pointless subplots :( and I really liked the 1st hour or so then it just got silly and went off the point, good but not perfect by a long way. I didnt know the extras had english subs :)

You are funny Romero. Only a few weeks ago you said:

And now you've bought it anyway. You sound pretty sure you weren't going to buy it.

I agree btw with you for once :D . The first hour was good and I think overall it was good but it goy sloppy and didn't know where it was going.

That uber hard woman was cool though.

LOL Tom makes perfect sense, Romero corrects him and makes no sense :D

Are they since when?

Yeah that is one film that was cut to shreds. The dumb thing is at 2 and a half hours it shouldn've flowed nicely. There was lots of footage I'd have cut before the footage Scott clearly cut.

It didn't feel complete. I'll get this ONLY if the uncut version comes. It's not a complete film until then.

Well it was 7 pounds :) now the links busted :( and really the film may make lots more sense and run better with the full 4 hours if they cut loads of action for instance as it did get boring many times.

I was wondering anyone else buy the Limited Collectors edition of the Seven Swords? I just want to know if the HK & this version of the movie are identical as there doesn't seem to be an original track as when you play the Mandarin track there are dubbed parts. When you play the Cantonese track there are also dubbed parts.

Is the HK a non dubbed version? or are all versions dubbed?

All versions are dubbed as far as I know.

The original track should be mandarin, but most of the main actors are cantonese speakers. Personally I watch it in cantonese, but it's just a matter of taste.
