Jackie Chan seeks more serious roles

Fair play to Jackie for doing this IMO, though I thought NPS was an action-drama? It does have fights in it, I'm sure The Myth has action in it as well. :?
Its' good to see he doesnt want to play the stereotype role anymore and try different things, even in HK in the 80's/90's the films always had cop/agent/spy "Jackie" in them. :)

Neat article. The top picture of Jackie was taken when he was here in Cologne. In the background you can see the famous cathedrale and he is standing in front of the Hyatt.

I suspect it's also because he's finally realised he's not getting any younger.

Huh? They offered The Interpretor to Jackie Chan???
Next month I start another movie that is totally comedy. I want all the audience to know that not only can I fight, I can really act."
Go Jackie.

Will his casual fans leave him though?

Not sure a comedy is the best vehicle for Jackie to demonstrate his acting.

The comedy he's referring to is Project BB (Sammo - Yuen Biao - Jackie).
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Doesnt the plot sound a bit like Three Men and a Baby though? (which in both its French and US versions was a comedy).

I never knew there was a French version, was it any good?

Nope but I suspect he's slowly trying to get away from action. People already think of him as a comedy star so it makes sense.

Three Men and a Baby ? (which in both its French and US versions was a comedy).

Actually, Three Men and A Baby (US - 1987) is a remake of the french movie called "3 Hommes et un Couffin" = Three Men and a Cradle (France - 1985).

They're both supposed to be very good, but I haven't seen either of them.

I should've guessed that. Hollywood copying ideas, what seriously?

Three Men and A Baby is decent popcorn fluff. Not a keeper IMO.

Yeah, not sure the best way to get away from action is to star in a film with SAMMO HUNG and YUEN BIAO!!! :D
