"A rookie cop takes on a veteran escape driver in a death defying final showdown on the motorway."

Finally trailer:

Shawn Yue and Anthony Wong star in the film about a rookie police pursuit driver chasing down a legendary getaway driver through the streets of Hong Kong. And here's the thing: The car chase sequences were shot guerrilla style, without permits or road closures, throughout the public streets of Hong Kong late at night. They simply strapped the camera on and away they went at high speed with a talented team of stunt drivers.

Soi Cheang x Johnnie To + awesome genre. Shawn Yue and Anthony Wong will star. Slightly worried about the rather careful / low speed driving in the trailer, but at least this is gonna beat the shit out of Initial D (which really didn't have anything good about it, except Anne-chan). The guerilla style sounds awesome.

I expected a Fast & The Furious type of movie but I'm glad it doesn't turn out that way. Looks more like a mix of Running Out Of Time and Gone In 60 Seconds. Anyway, I'm stoked. Johnnie To and Soi Cheang have proven to be a great team for making fresh movies. Who can't forget the excellent Accident?

I can :D

It was good, but they were really streching it with some of the murder scenes. The rain kill was about as believable as Indy escaping the nuclear explosion in Crystal Skull...

Officially my most awaited film of the year. Accident was a big disappointment - great atmosphere ruined with complete lack of logic and credibility... a terrible flaw in a film that is all about details, mood and cleverness - but I doubt we'll have the same flaws here.

Unlike Japan (in the 70's), Hong Kong doesn't have much worth mentioning in terms of car chase films, but I'm convinced this will change the case. If Soi Cheang can bring the atmosphere from Accident and combine it with solid car action I'm sold.
