Fatal Move is unwatchable beyond words, anyone who likes that is fucking mental in the head. CGI fucking shit and appalling plot, cast and acting. The worst film I have seen this year.

Just because I give two films the same star rating doesn't mean they're comparable in quality. There are many factors I take into account when in assigning stars.

I'm not gonna start taking lessons in film criticism from Luckystars who doesn't even know how to properly rate a movie.

I don't do ratings that way and I'm not gonna change my system just so a pair of tits can understand it.

I use .5 because I figured that was easier for you guys to follow than 1/2.

I do try to take the board's simpletons into account.

You also must have your font size gigantic, or you have your resolution so low its easy to see a bunch of stars so small

nah your resolution must be 800x600 to see them that close together

They are literally 2mm high on my screen (and I have a big screen) and pretty much impossible to see space between them without wasting time looking closer, when a number is far far easier to see and no double glancing needed.

Personally I find marks out of 4 and stars instead of numbers slightly pretentious, marks out of 5 or 10 works perfectly well and can be immediately understood by newcomers without a disclaimer that the scoring system is slightly different, but I believe whoever writes the review/comments has the right to choose their own rating system, so I'm not sure why people keep moaning about them! :D

Agreed. Newbies would immediately assume it's a rating out of 5. Mark cannot even be bothered to put ***.5 out of 4.

It's also double pretentious using stars. What's wrong with 3.5/4? It's immediately clear what you mean and Mark can strill use his anally retentive rating system.

Because it's pretentious and being difficult for difficult's sake. Everyone else is perfectly happy with a rating out of 5 or 10 but Mark considers himself to important to use a rating system everyone else uses.

Actually I think Mark is just someone who prefers a different scoring system, that is all.

I'm not being pretentious. It's just how I like to rate films.

You guys are free to mark out of 5 or 10 if you so wish.

And you all know I mark out of 4 now so hardly work explaining each time.

Okay, one final questions. What's with the stars? I actually find them much more annoying than the score :D.

Who's that? Technically it's Mark Kermode.

He talks loads of shit but is funny when he says it. If that was a dig at me. I've not listened to him in months. His podcast is way too long.

I actually meant I agree with you and that they're not even stars, they're asterisks so that's why they're annoying. Nothing wrong with nice big stars for reviews, but asterisks are too small.
