Thanks salty :).

This looks rather good (maybe the colours look a little off though)! I'm quite surprised that it appears to be genuine HD (strange how other Mei Ah titles such as 'Full Throttle' were upscaled). It would be interesting to compare the forthcoming Dragon Dynasty Blu-Ray (using the Dimension version).

What's the audio like? The subtitles will most likely be the old ones (the elusive Austrian DVD has new ones).

Dude I actually have Full Throttle and its definitely not an upscale. those screens posted at ADG looked really bad but watching it in motion, it looks damn near prestine.

I'm not sure. Although it's not 100% evidence (when the top doesn't have the problem) - horizontally (if you zoom in on the captures), you can see the black border and image blurred (genuine HD BL films don't have this, except for select moments of 'The Big Boss').

I think after the upscale, edge enhancement was applied (making it look horrible).

I know but it's unbuyable and unwatchable. So in a way, what does it matter?

Does anyone here own the German blu-ray? I wonder how that one compares to this one...

I'm not saying that isn't but people throw around the term upscale far to easily nowadays, it's used whenever a HD transfer isn't absolutely perfect.
