I think Liverpool fans should stop whining and be glad they got rid of a Torres for a whopping $50m. Terrific for a player who's done next to bugger all for 7 months.

Can't believe what Liverpool paid for Carroll. If he's worth 40 million euro, then Ajax should have asked a 100 million for Suarez. British players always are crazy expensive, and I usually have no clue why.

All the hatred against Torres seems a bit juvenile and sad btw. But hey, I've never understood the extreme emotions some fanboys display...

Yes, I think Liverpool never gave Hodgson a fair shake.
Clearly his royal highness King Kenny was the right managerial move and next season you guys may be contenders...
I do like Liverpool FC (have cheered them in the past in Europe) but I think the fans were down on Hodgson from the off and decided he wasnt good enough before a ball was ever kicked.

Hodgson systematically tried to bring us down to a level he felt comfortable with,mid-table obscurity.Most of his signings were woeful (Poulsen,Konchesky,Jones,Cole) and his tactics particularly away from home were negative in the extreme.He likes to paint a picture that he was hounded out,as someone who attends every home league game that's bollocks,while he was never hailed as such there were no Hodgson out chants at the ground at any point,though we did shout "Hodgson for England" at one game after another shocking display. He's a journeyman manager who will do a great job keeping a team in the middle reaches of the league,(WBA,Fulham) but put him at a big club with reasonable expectations and he'll struggle. Dalglish has come in and done a great job turning things around, from 4 points off the relegation places when Hodgson went to still in with a chance of europe with 3 games left is some going. Hodgson was never right for our club and was an appalling appointment by an idiot playing championship manager (Purslow)...managing nine teams in the last 12 years suggest Roy is never anywhere for very long so he certainly wasn't going to build a dynasty at Anfield. Man utd fans at work were upset when we sacked him-that should tell you all you need to know

I haven't seen all that many Liverpool games before the winter, but what I saw was pretty bad.

It seemed to me Liverpool were depending too much on 1 lone striker up front, who sticks very much in 1 place, and who wasn't in form (Torres), and they lacked the creative people on the midfield to adequetely support him.

Now, with Suarez, you have a moving forward who comes into the ball, goes of to the flanks, goes deep, etc etc. He gives you much more option. Even more, you now have a player who makes room for others, and mostly Kuyt has been benefitting tremendously from those new spaces up front that are now opening up, and from a player who also goes into combinations with him, unlike Torres, who was usually pretty much just the end-station.

Carroll also seems like he good be a force to be reckoned withm with Kuyt and Suarez around him.

Suddenly, the Liverpool offence, which looked pretty damn poor, is now suddenly looking very strong.

Add to that the fact that Gerrard has been piss-poor or injured the whole season (they should replace him with FC Twente's Theo Janssen), and the defence was't very good before the very talented youngsters were brought in at the back.

Nice to see Liverpool now back in place to compete for a top 5 spot next season.
