The rising prices of Shaw Bros. Discs

Based on cross referencing hkflix and amazon, it seems most of the better SB discs(MB, DD, Funimation) are floating around $18 USD. Of course, there are some exceptions for either older titles or whatever reason that may be around $13. You then of course have Well Go that are around $10-14 but I guess one can say that's representative of their quality(the film itself and the disc quality) in comparison to the big 3. Correct me if I'm wrong but most of these releases as of late are bare bones. I think gone are the days where I'll buy on release date when I can wait it out for a sale either mid year or near the holidays. I understand the distro's and online stores need to make their margins, the economy sucks, but who is rushing to get these titles @ these prices , especially when they are bare bones and bootleggers are nearby waiting to undercut sales? Thoughts?

Most of the discs aren't worth the lower prices.

Yeah alot of the prices of SB movies have definitely jumped quite a bit .Unfortunately though alot of the SB titles are OOP already some gone shortly after being released.Grab those SB titles that you want nowas they don't look like they're going to be around for much longer.It's getting hard just to find stores with SB DVDS in them now.

Im not too worried about the ones I want going OOP, considering I probably have an existing version of it. Oh well. Time to play the waiting game for prices to drop.

Isn't that because the currency of U.S. dollar has reached an all-time low?
