Customs question
Hey, if I order a Criterion that's £17.95, and the postage is £1.24, I'll be just under the customs limit won't I? The postage charge doesn't come into it right?

Re: Customs question
I don't think so, it's the value of the GOODS which is under £18 so you should be OK I think

Re: Customs question
£17.95 is mighty close. You'll be fine (you better be anyway) but can you not find it for a wee bit less?
Is that £17.95 or the equivalent in USD? If the latter, it could be risky.

Re: Customs question
Technically you should be fine, especially with the current low dollar, but we all know customs are thieving bastards who should be shot in the face repeatedly, so like Brad says, you might want to look around to find it slightly cheaper, or search for vouchers or mark it as a gift or whatever.
I'm kinda in a bind myself now. I told the postman last friday to return the package to amazon cause I wouldn't accept it, but that means I know have to re-order my books and hope it will go through this time... which kinda sucks.
Gawd, customs and postoffices.... what a fucking combination.

Re: Customs question
The customs limit in New Zealand is something crazy like 100 bucks. I forget what Eva said exactly.

Re: Customs question
I don't think that's crazy at all TBH. I feel my government shouldn't have to get any money from a transition they have absolutely nothing to do with.bradavon wrote:The customs limit in New Zealand is something crazy like 100 bucks. I forget what Eva said exactly.

Re: Customs question
It's a Criterion Blu-ray (Vivre Sa Vie) and the cheapest I've seen it yet. It's in pounds by the way, not a dollar conversion.

I meant crazy as in "crazy it's so much higher than ours" , not crazy it exists.

Re: Customs question
Well... to me it's crazy that our limit is so ridiculously low.bradavon wrote:I meant crazy as in "crazy it's so much higher than ours" , not crazy it exists.

That's basically what I said.
