I'm sure Gas means the very early HKLs weren't half as remastered as the latter ones. They're all remastered to some extent.

Nope, The Black Sheep Affair wasn't remastered. It doesn't say it anywhere on the packaging, and it's obvious from watching it that they didn't do any work on it. The packaging for Hitman doesn't mention being restored or remastered either, and again that's a '90s film and an early HKL disc.

They were both anamorphically (sp?) enhanced and also converted to Native PAL. Which is some sort of remastering. I imagine new subs were also created. I also suspect a (very) quick clean through was applied, to remove nicks etc...

They'd look identical to the HK DVDs if no remastering was applied and I'm guessing they look better.

Hitman and Blacksheep shouldn't have needed remastering given that they came out less than two years after their theatrical release.

Spooky, Spooky has never been released on DVD.

Which is why HKL didn't remaster them, although Brad is now claiming that anamorphic enhancement counts as remastering  The PQ on Blacksheep isn't great, might be due to the encode, might be to do with NTSC/PAL conversion, not sure.

I wouldn't say so. They've clearly been remastered, when you said they hadn't.

Normally it's a given but far too many HK DVDs were released letterbox.

Are you sure it's NTSC to PAL? I didn't HKL ever did that.
