Has anyone ever been jailed for animal cruelty? It makes me sick.Markgway wrote:In the UK some cocksucker drowned a squirrel and escaped with a fine.

Re: The off-topic topic
I think here in Holland an animal is considered an 'object', instead of an actual living creature, so when you kill someone's pet or whatever, it goes down as 'vandalisme' or something idiotic like that.bradavon wrote:Careful Salty. We're all a idiotic in Bath. You'll probably get raped whilst you're asleep and a cat will shit on your shoes.
I've walked passed it many times. It looks nice from the outside, is right in the centre of the city and from the outside looks to be a Georgian building. So I'm guessing big rooms.

I guess it's the same in the UK!?
Here in Holland, they've been talking about changing it for years, but ofcourse, they hardly ever do. That's politicians for ya. Even on a subject where all of them say they agree (senseless animal-cruelty should be punished more harshly), it takes forever for them to actually change the law...
Incompetent bastards.
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

Re: The off-topic topic
Basically yes. They don't use the word object but their actions speak otherwise. It's certainly treated no worse than common burglarly. Even if it's on a big scale (like someone who runs a dog fighting ring, they usually just get a fine. An amount obviously they can afford to pay, running just a profitable business.Yi-Long wrote:I think here in Holland an animal is considered an 'object', instead of an actual living creature, so when you kill someone's pet or whatever, it goes down as 'vandalisme' or something idiotic like that.

We get that too. They all agree on something and it still can take years, if at all.Yi-Long wrote:Here in Holland, they've been talking about changing it for years, but ofcourse, they hardly ever do. Not sure what country you live in Brad, but here in the UK you kill someone's family pet you'd probably be facing a 24 week jail sentence on Animal cruelty charges - ditto if you breed dogs for fighting. Rather pitiful amount of jail time for murder of an animal, but at least it's worse than a fine!

Re: The off-topic topic
The amazing thing is they ussually let people off, even for some real nasty animal shit as most the time they cannot seem to prove things to get them locked away.
A guy round ours killed tens of thousands of dogs for cash from their owners with a bolt gun, which goes wrong once in a while so they need a few shots in the head, which as you can imagine will hurt the animal a lot. He never even went to jail, only a tiny fine! when he made a large fortune killing them for cash
Read this and weap, our area is fucked up sometimes.

The UK is fucked up in all aspects of the law for me, add this to the ranks of mental cases.

I think 'we' should be allowed to shoot the balls off any man who is cruel to an animal (and tits if it's a woman).
Nothing repels me more than animal cruelty.

Aren't those the exception rather than the rule. 6 month is a joke. It should be several years.Shingster wrote:Not sure what country you live in Brad, but here in the UK you kill someone's family pet you'd probably be facing a 24 week jail sentence on Animal cruelty charges - ditto if you breed dogs for fighting. Exactly. That's what I really meant.romerojpg wrote:The amazing thing is they ussually let people off, even for some real nasty animal shit as most the time they cannot seem to prove things to get them locked away.

Re: The off-topic topic
Yeah I have read two dog shagger stories in the news this week. The other was an old man who went to his vets and complained his massive great dane dog was not into the sex anymore
the vet went to the cops, obviously as you would.

A spokesman for English Heritage said: "This was a very rare incident".
No shit.
I have no time for animal shaggers but at least it isn't violence.

The reason I'd been away was because I'd been away on an adventure/residential holiday with a group from Special Olympics. The activities were quite fun if often hard (eg abseiling, caving), pretty tiring

In other breaking news i felt my bladder needed emptying around 4:15 am this morning, however after some deliberation i felt it was unwarranted to leave my warm comfy bed at such an ungodly hour and made the decision to hold it in till the alarm went off at 05:55 hrs.
