I don't always agree with him, but I think he's one of the better critics Britain has.

I think the answer for romero's comment is obvious: He has opinions on films that romero usually doesn't agree with.

I've never known anyone who seems so threatened about the opinion of others as romero, tis why he's always ranting on and on about film critics, most people just ignore the critics they don't agree with and leave it at that.

you really are so wrong. Everything you just wrote is wrong, if you do not know why I say things about critics/reviews by now, well that is your problem.

If he dislikes a film he will let out the ending in reviews! just to spite anyone from going to see something he disliked, anyone who
thinks that is big or clever is a fucking moron. Anyone defending that is a cock as well, obviously he does it for a laff, but hey I am sure thousands of people are really amused when he spoils a film for them. Mind you he has even done it for films he liked, so the man is just an inept dick.

He gets PAID to do these film reviews and yet still makes massive mistakes in the reviews, wrong actors names, wrong charecter names, plot details totally out of whack and even worse. Again he gets paid to do some research before hand and may well have people doing this shit for him, but does he double check before saying or writing, no. If I make a mistake in a silly comment online I could not care less, nor do most people if they do the same, but if we were to get paid to do it (or even just doing something Proper Bo for a site etc..) and still mess up, really you do not deserve the job. If you are doing anything like a real review/critical piece on a film you would think with a bit of cash you could get it even close to right pretty much every single time. If I make mistakes in my job I get the sack, simple.

He used to make stuff up about films on Radio 1 when he was on Mayo's show (there is no other explanation for such epic mistakes over and over again), he would do reviews of a film and make points at the end, and many times them points were not in the film he had just reviewed! he made them up/or was on crack as frankly he would go off on a film for plot points which never even happened.

I still remember the idiot slagging off other critics he was sitting in a screening with for not understanding a film they just had watched. Kermode went on to praise the film and it’s amazing way of telling the story or some such bullshit he talks, all the while everyone else said it made no sense at all, but Kermode being the idiot he is he said it did make sense and was a great way of telling the story.

They found out later the film had been shown wrongly, all the reels had been put into the machine in the wrong order making the film a total mess.

and to cap it all off he is a fat faced stupid haired Cock

I would take you over a paid critic/reviewer anyday, a bit of passion for the subject always helps.

You're so right. Romero clearly has a real problem with allowing others to give a differing opinion. The entire point of a Film Critic, is to give an opinion. You may not agree with it but it's still a valid opinion.

Nope I just dont post on here daily like most do, dont even log into and look about for days on end. Why would I bother when bugger all happens for weeks until something kicks off. I dont even remember most I post thats for sure

if the thread was not bumped I would never have remembered any of it. I pretty much only post on TDVDF now to be honest, too much to see read and reply to if I visit loads of sites like the older days and read every thread.

Critics cannot win, they give a true opinion of what "they think" and people hate them. They lie and say what "people want to hear" and people hate them. It's all just "opinions" guys. I don't think you guys get the point of a film critic.
