Kim Jong Ill probably thought North Korea would win it by a landslide... ;)

Great performance by the North Koreans though. Very impressive display; good tactics, great effort, and pretty good individuel skill and vision by many players.

...ow... and Brazil were pretty poor, but they win it because of the individuel skill.

Wow... Spain lost to Switzerland... :o

BTW, those 2 matches of today weren't in the prediction-list.

My prediction for tonight is a win for Uruguay. Let's hope the fabulous Suarez will finally be able to show his quality.

How come you have 9 points? You had 7 matches right in the first round... if I checked correctly.

I got 9 points as I predicted the winner correctly in 7 matches, but also got the score right in one of them which is a 2 point bonus.

I'm doing the matches in 5 days blocks, although this set missed today's matches cause I'm a numpty.

Aw ic ic... so scores get extra points :)

Why do it in 5 day blocks, and not just 1 block for every round? Cause now the Spain game is again missing from the prediction.

Ow yeah, even though you forgot the new block, I did predict the Uruguay-game yesterday before the match began, and got it right :D

Argentina v South Korea 1-2
Greece v Nigeria 0-2
France v Mexico 0-1
Germany v Serbia 3-0
Slovenia v USA 2-0
England v Algeria 4-0
Netherlands v Japan 4-0
Ghana v Australia 1-0
Cameroon v Denmark 2-1
Slovakia v Paraguay (draw) 0-0
Italy v New Zealand 1-0
Brazil v Ivory Coast 2-3

Doing it in 5 day block so that:

1) I don't have to update too regularly. Every day would be a pain.
2) Not doing it in one "group stage" block as to e honest I had no idea how good/bad some teams were. This allowed everyone to reassess their opinions of certain teams as the matches progressed. Rather than completely cocking up one team's predictions because you though they were much better/worse than they actually are.
3) there are 15 days of group matches, and 5 goes into 15 nicely.

Let's just hope Germany beat Ghana and win their group to set up an England V Germany next round. About time England actually play a decent team...

England were pretty lucky to be honest.

Two poor performances and a win against a piss-poor Slovenia who couldn't hit a barn door.

We scraped through one of the weakest World Cup groups I can remember. Very lucky but hey, at least we're still in it. That's all that counts.

True. Bloody nervy last 15 minutes, I think the team were sh*tting themselves then Slovenia might score.
What exactly did Cole do when he came on?

Nothing. But that didn't stop the team bullying Capello into it.

He did his job of wasting time to protect the lead I guess.
Did you see Italy have gone out? :o
Finished bottom of their group with Slovakia and Paraguay qualifying. NZ came third.
Italy lost to Slovakia 3-2, some great goals.
I would argue Italy's group was quite easy like Englands, at least they managed to qualify! :D
