even though the superstar tried to negotiate, Johnnie To always answered “Enough chitchat! I’m bored by dialogue. I prefer silent actors“.

You may wanna wait for caps before you buy. I don't know how their other releases have been like.
The French dvd and BD will be out the same day

Re: Vengeance
BD caps at asianbdguide, and all I can say is WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?
Here's the rest of the caps:

I don't know much about BD's but man, I think I've seen VHS tapes sharper than that.

The glasses look like they are painted on Anthony Wong's face. WTF?HungFist wrote:BD caps at asianbdguide, and all I can say is WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?

Re: Vengeance
Yeah it definitely looks digitally painted to me, were his eyes showing through in the original shot or something?

Matt's UK BD review:

I wonder if the French BD is better.
How much non-English language dialogue is there in the film, and is it important dialogue or just random chatter?

Re: Vengeance
Maybe the painted glasses were to cover up a continuity error. Like if Wong forgot to wear them in some shots. Otherwise I really don't get it.

Re: Vengeance
There's enough Cantonese for the film to be classified as dual language, basically whenever Anthony Wong's crew aren't talking to Johnny Hallyday they're speaking cantonese, but there's not exactly a shitload of chinese dialogue plus most of the scenes that are purely in Canto should be easy to guess what's going on.HungFist wrote:How much non-English language dialogue is there in the film, and is it important dialogue or just random chatter?

Re: Vengeance
Thanks.
Maybe I'll wait a bit more and see if a US BD comes out. But I don't really expect a US release to improve over the UK disc...
Would be nice to find FR caps somewhere.
