I can see why that would upset some people but she went to a Frankie gig and she knows he is an offensive comedian.. well, she gets Frankie Boyle. What was she expecting?
Frankie takes the piss out of many different people, that's his humour. Obviously the lady found his comments too close to the bone (fair enough), but why can you make fun of group X and not others?
Also interesting that she, in effect repeats the joke herself, doing the imitation of what she said was "horrible and childish".

Yeah a fair few, I but hate the way everyone laffs even when it is not even funny just to kind of give the performer something. It has to be really funny for me to laff out loud, so most comedy for me is a bit of a fail.

I can imagine everyone was chuckling along with the Down Syndrome jokes this guy was telling, esspecially if they are big fans.

I can imagine shocked laughter from some, not others - I dunno, not everyone will find everything funny.
I can see why she was upset, it just seems hypocritical IMO, she was a fan of his and says she likes "dark, crude humour", went to the gig, and must have been happy to laugh at the other things he made fun of, but when it was too close, she didnt like it.

I find FB can be very funny, but he can also go a bit far at times.
Reading the blog, it sounds as if the lady was upset, but instead of Frankie moving on he humiliated her which is out of order.
Maybe he could have spoken to her afterwards.

I should first hear the jokes and in the right context, but I'm not that easily offended and I usually like Frankie Boyle's. It's surprise/shock humor, and that usually works very good when you say something that catches people off guard by it being so outrageous and out of the blue.

There has been many MANY instanstances where people were 'shocked' by something and made a huge deal about, and then when you would watch it, it wasn't all that bad.

True. We need to the full joke, though it doesn't sound funny when she accounts it, some may have found it funny, some not... as you say Yi, Frankie's humour is "shocking" at times, he can be very funny.

I always like that kinda humour, when you kinda say the complete opposite of the 'normal' thing. Your little niece asks you on a birthday how she can lose weight!? Advice her to start smoking! Hilarity ensues. I like the 'mean' kinda humour. Not putting people down or ridiculing them just to insult or hurt, but the kind of remarks they won't expect, but where it's clear it's meant tongue-in-cheek.

I don't like cheap, nasty humour that makes fun of those who have a disability or can't defend themselves. It's cowardly and cruel. I do think Boyle can be funny, but not when he says shit like that.

Fair point. I don't think that sort of joke is funny or would be amusing, but I'd like to hear the joke in context still. I have laughed at some of his other stuff though.

Well you aren't old enough to go back too far are you?The likes of this tosser is far more offensive than anything that was around in the 70's.

I don't mind "offensive" humour but there are limits. A couple of christmases ago we had our xmas do at a comedy club in Liverpool. One of our party was (is) a ringer for Harold Shipman and of course he was targetted by the compere.Which was fine,it was funny at first but in the end my coleagues night was ruined as he became the on-going joke and therefore centre of attention the whole night.they can go too far imo.

True Mark, I think we all agree it was a distasteful thing to joke about and doesn't seem funny. But where do you draw the line? Others in the audience probably laughed but also may have thought "I can't believe he said that!" sort of thing.
