Clearly much better but do you really like MK that much, to buy an expensive Spanish BD? I guess so :).

I could've sworn I read "Spanish blu-ray". Anyway, you must love it, to want to upgrade to the blu-ray.

i believe these movies are well liked by Romero.could be wrong. The first one, what i remember of it wasn't too bad except for that dreadful Mortal Kombat techno music that plays on and off through the movie.

I used to really like the theme tune hah, it was like the first song I ever downloaded off Napster! I was about 10 though to be fair.

I love part 1  just the right amount of stupid and silly, with a few good fights (sadly I guess HD will show stunt doubles galore!).
I have the Spanish DVD (anamorphic but not exactly doing a film justice transfer wise). So an upgrade would be welcome, doesnt look to shabby on Blu Ray, but I do wonder what Warner/Newline will do with it soon.

Part 2, well stuff that  Even HD cannot make that good :D but I wil say it grows on me, from mind boggling hate! to a watch once every 5 years

The first film was OK. Not a Techno fan but the music worked in context. Couldn't stand the sequel though.

I quite like the first one. No WAY would I pay for it though. The Mortal Kombat films are still excellent. I prefer them to Street Fighter. It's badly in need of an update, like Street Fighter 4.

I believe DJ Icey handled the music for Mortal Kombat. Sad that I know that.

Speaking of Mortal Kombat, word is that they are suppose to reboot this movie franchise. Let's hope the next one isnt so PG and goes crazy with the violence/gore/fatalities that the game is known for.

Can you tell when watching? any jaggies or anything? I have only had a few 1080i transfers, and they looked fine.

I'm sure I read Tom say, you shouldn't be able to spot it. As the deinterlacers in most TVs tends to be so good.

Only ever seen the odd person with equipment like projectors etc.. get visable probs, but hell it is very rare from all the forums I visit. I have heard people mention it, but many are being silly and saying ITS 1080i NO BUY without even ever seeing a 1080i transfer haha even if it is the best transfer ever :D

The only time I notice 1080i is when watching HD extras, but then again that could be just the fact they have not exactly filmed them and transfered them with the time and effort of a film.

1080i wouldn't put me off per say but it would if it was the decider factor (and the 1080p one didn't cost miles more). Hell I watch everything with my Blu-ray Player set to 1080i (Non-1080p HD Ready TV), so I'm certainly not going to spot the difference.

Are the Lethal Weapon BDs 1080i? I thought I noticed jaggies on those.

To be fair to Mortal Kombat neither of the films are PG material - both are PG-13 and contain bone-crunching violence. You know if they did go for an R they would just add CGI bloodspurting and that's no improvement.

The early Warner BD's suffered this jaggie effect as a result of uPconverting a 1080i master to 1080p..bizarre.ETD, The Fugitive were other titles affected.

MK1 was cut to remove shots of a nunchaku being used.

MK2 was cut to remove a neck break and a back break.
