The blu-ray looks better in cap #4,otherwise not a lot of difference.proof of the pudding will be watching it on a large screen of course.

Another review: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/40819/running-man-the/
Lionsgate presents The Running Man in an AVC encoded 1.85:1 widescreen look that, just "is," I suppose. Most of the film occurs at night or in darkness, and blacks are inconsistent, with crushing in the few scenes that keep them stable. There appears to be DNR in some of the Arnold close-ups with Kotto and Alonso in the game zone, and film grain is abundant through the feature. Whites are a little hot as well. Not having seen the film in a while and not owning the SD copy, I can't say that it's a clear upgrade in picture quality, but it's far from impressive.

And another review http://www.the-numbers.com/interactive/ ... ewsID=4834
"As for the Blu-ray's technical presentation, it depends on your point of view. If one were to compare it to the previous DVD release, or even Blu-rays from films made around the same time, then the Blu-ray is a marked improvement". Having now watched it,it's definitely a step up from the dvd but certainly nothing special,in fact i think the Sky HD showing looked crisper.Region A locked as well.

Speaking of region locking... according to the sleeves all of Lionsgate's Paramount-licenced output (eg, Drop Zone, The Phantom, et al) is reg coded also. Just when I thought it was starting to die out.
