Which company released these? Some retalers claim HK Video, but looking at the cover art it looks more like that sister company (or whatever it was, I forgot, again) that released those Jackie and Sammo films. If that's the case, then there's probably no hope of orig. mono, and I can stick to my Universe / HKL dvds. Or am I wrong?

Looks like Seven Sept.
If you look at the covers carefully, you'll see a Fortune Star logo at the bottom of each of them. I guess this means no original mono, then.

Is it just me, or does it look like there are two Andy Laus on this HOFD cover?
Has it been confirmed this is the USA cut? This hasn't got English subs right?

I'm planning to pick up the UK BD but understand there are other European BDs too. I can only find info about the French and UK discs though.

I heard somewhere that this was the original HK cut, actually.
Horse falls, throat-cutting, blood and everything.

Can't confirm it, though.
Can't even tell you where I heard that.

Sakuran x 2

I wouldn't really recommend buying this film until it's made available in Blu-Ray format. Then it would make a nice live-painting for flat screen owners. It's not a bad film, but it doesn't have much else than special Anna Tsuchiya and some stunning moments with visuals and Shiina Ringo soundtrack.

You can get some taste of the soundtrack on the film's official site: http://www.sakuran-themovie.com/

Where is the best place to order HK Vidéo DVDs if you live in Europe but not near France?
Amazon.fr just charged me over 12 euro for shipping and taxes on one DVD!
Any ideas?
Thanks.

It's so annoying all these great French discs without English subs, because I'm guessing they're not allowed to. Which would be fine if the bloody English speaking country studios actually released them instead.

I don't think you will find better shipping rates, Asia-Diffusion is another solution, for european countries excepting France, Belgium and Switzerland :
1 DVD = 10 € + 1.95 per DVD (tracking and insurance incl.)
Option Prioritaire + 4 € (I guess this option is faster)

Does anyone here have the english subs for Love in the Time of Twilight?
The ones from the Chinese DVD release?
I found an english script at Kloofy but I need the translation from the Chinese DVD to make a "final" proper subtitle. Translating the French subs on the Fr DVD release of the film has proven to be quite daunting. I've only found two small clips from the movie with the theatrical hardsubs. I did use those to compare to the existing translation and there are some differences.
If anyone can point me in the right direction ( I know Tai Seng released the movie on VHS and VCD in the US but did they retranslate it or did they use the theatrical master with burned in Chinese and English subs), I'd be grateful.

Thanks.

Did you check this one, looks like it's for the HK Video release, you can read the first lines of the subs by clicking on the "show preview" link.

The covers are fine. They actually make the films look arty rather than trashy. I don't know mind if that's a good thing for fans.

The biggest problem is the price, each film is 19.99 €, it's the same for another collection "L'âge d'or du X américain" (US porn classics collection) when films from the Vintage Classics collection are only 9.99€.
