Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children - 2/5
While the graphics are amazing, the actual film is awful. I felt like I was watching someone else play a videogame for 95 minutes. Mind-numbing action scene after mind-numbing action scene, I found it quite boring after awhile.
The film has virtually no plot, so it doesn't matter if you've played the original game; you just won't know who the characters are or the backstory, but it's a plotless action movie so it doesn't matter.
BTW if anyone wants the subs for the film, drop me a PM with your email address.

I give this one 4/5
I found the action scenes (apart from the very first one) totally awesome, everything id hoped from action scenes in a final fantasy film. Whilst i havent played the games i have watched and read enough to know who all the characters are, it was wonderful to see how well they were realised in the film.
the plot was as dodgy as ever, kind of a 'what happened next' from the game. No where near enough was explained though i think it would have become boring if they had bothered to, at the end of the day it was an out and out action flick whos main audience will be the millions of fans of the game around the world.
finally having seen this I never want to see the first one again. boring pap that it was compared to this one...

This film has been designed primarily for the fans so you have to keep this in mind when watching this film. It's a continuation of Final Fantasy VII game and OVAs. A
last big hurrah of the series (though I hope not). Since all the background story has been covered there is no need to reiterate.
I suggest people go play the excellent game before they watch this failing that go over to Wikipedia and look it up.
Advent Children is primarily a action feature and what action. Hands down this film has some of the best action scenes I’ve seen anywhere. Beautifully realised camera work and choreography. This film had me drooling. Think Matrix style action X 10. The animation is lush and smooth that sometime you forget your watching an anime and not a live action feature.
I highly recommend Fans and action junkies to check this out.
I give this film 4.5 out of 5
