Re: New Year's Resolutions
Nope. I don't believe in them. Not because they're a bad idea. I just tend to do things there and then, that need changing or if I don't get around to it, they cannot have been that important to me in the first place.
I am starting to learn Spanish next month and I've wanted to for years but I was planning to do it in January more by circumstance than anything else.

Yeah. I'm gonna lose more weight (and the xmas pounds I'm currently piling on!)
Gonna take my career to the next stage.
That's 'nuff for 2010.

My goals are to stay healthy, maintain the significant weight loss i've achieved this year (it's made a hell of a difference to me) look after my family. that's it really, though i aim to trim down my movie collection again and spend less time at the computer ,i spend too much spare time on it.doesn't help when you have limited internet access at work.

Re: New Year's Resolutions
Last years goals pretty much went into the garbage bin, as my PC broke down for most of the year, and only 2-3 months orso ago did I get a new one.
For next year I want to lose some weight. I'm still a long way off from being 'fat' or anything like that, but I do notice some 'love-handles' and slight bellyfat appearing, and I want to get rid of that as fast as possible...
Also, I really need to just buy a new TV so I can enjoy my gaming, and hopefully also find a new place to live, either here in Holland, or somewhere else in the world.

At the party last night/this morning I suddenly felt like 'what the fuck am I doing here' when there were just people all around me inhaling nitrous balloons and stuff, I feel 2010 may bring a change of lifestyle for me.

I told a friend of mine I know longer want to be doing it. I actually only did it a bit but it was all to easy to say yes, when she did and if I'm honest it did little for me. So why bother?

I've never tried drugs. Never even felt an urge to try it.

I've never had an urge as such but you only live once and I can now say I know what the effects of MDMA, Cocaine and Speed are like. I'm happy with hard liqueur if I want to get trashed to be honest. Usually merry is best. It also depends how you come across it. I've not known friends who use them until last year.

Brad arrives at the NYE 2009 bash wearing his 2009 comedy glasses

He then hears there's gear going around and being a wise,Kwai Chang Caine travel the world type of guy he decides he wants to try some

But he didn't reckon without the side effects

After a few wild hours he comes to his senses-"fuck this" he thinks quietly to himself,"in future i'll impress my friends with my crazy comedy specs and leave the laughing gear alone"

As Zammo once said...just say no!

Not even alcohol? I hate it when people class alcohol as a separate entity, it's a drug and a bad one at that, ranking about 4/20 on Horizon's danger list I believe (1 being the most dangerous).Yi-Long wrote:I've never tried drugs. Never even felt an urge to try it.

Re: New Year's Resolutions
I guess alcohol is my only drug then (at least it's a legal one).
Never tried any others. Never felt the need. I know the damage they can do (social, physical, and mental). I can have a good time without drugs and for me peer pressure doesn't exist - I'm far too strong willed as you can probably imagine. lol. To say you tried drugs because you only live once is ironic given that many of these drugs could on any given day end your life. But drug takers aren't known for intelligence are they?

I tried alcohol for the taste of it, but never got drunk, nor had any urge to get drunk. And smoking I tried a few puffs when 'friends' urged me to... I took 2-3 puffs, and then snapped the cigarette in half and threw it away. Didn't care for it at all. Smells awfull, tastes awfull, and costs wayyy too much money.gasteropod wrote:Not even alcohol? Chocolate is one of those things that I think "ooh... yum" but then is never as good afterward. The idea is better.

Kinda depends on the quality of the chocolate, and how long you've been withoutMarkgway wrote:Chocolate is one of those things that I think "ooh... yum" but then is never as good afterward. The idea is better.
Or Chocolate puffreiss (LD knows it... it's sold in Germany but not so much (very rare) in Holland (sadly)

M&M's are great, but the increased the price here, so I now buy it much less often than I used to, plus I chipped one of my teeth on an M&M, so that was annoying as wellgasteropod wrote:Yeah the only cravings I ever get are for Peanut M&Ms and Ben & Jerry's ice cream lolYi-Long wrote:I'm addicted to chocolate. Only because the government makes so much tax from it.Markgway wrote:I guess alcohol is my only drug then (at least it's a legal one).
As Gas already pointed out, as can Alcohol.Markgway wrote:I know the damage they can do (social, physical, and mental).

I'm amazed you've never got drunk at least once. I tihnk everyone should get drunk at least once, it's on of life's experiences. If it does nothing for you, then fair enough.Yi-Long wrote:I tried alcohol for the taste of it, but never got drunk, nor had any urge to get drunk.

That and the fact that it's not inherently damaging to your system. You have to abuse alcohol for it to have a negative affect. The other drugs mentioned (chocolate aside, natch) have inherently damaging properties.bradavon wrote:Only because the government makes so much tax from it.
One line of cocaine or one ecstasy tablet can end your life. Never heard of one pint of lager or one tot of rum doing that to anyone (correct me if I'm wrong...)As Gas already pointed out, as can Alcohol, if taken to extremes.
You're a fucking imbecile. Honestly.I'm amazed you've never got drunk at least once. I tihnk everyone should get drunk at least once, it's on of life's experiences.

Alcohol arose as a poison as far as I'm aware, whilst you do need to drink quite a lot to die, it's still a toxic psychoactive drug regardless.Markgway wrote:That and the fact that it's not inherently damaging to your system. But show one example of someone taking their first drink and dying from it.
With other drugs you don't need to "abuse" them.

Chocolate makes you fat I guess
Can you even get addicted to chocolate? I guess you can.
Mark is right, drinking 1 beer or moderately won't hurt you - but ABUSING alcohol is bad. This is not the case with cigarettes where 1/every cigarette will do damage.

Not all illegal drugs you don't need to abuse or take a lot of to kill yourself. Obviously some are but not all illegal drugs are inherently damaging to your system.Markgway wrote:The other drugs mentioned (chocolate aside, natch) have inherently damaging properties.
Beer is only 4-5 percent but to counter act your argument the legally bought Absinth could've killed me recently. I only had "two" shots, the next thing I know I'm awake in bed, 6 hours later. I turn the light on and the beds covered in sick. If I'd inhaled I'd be a gonna. I've never thrown up whilst past out before. It sounds funny but it may not have been. I'm amazed Absinth is legal. From my experience Absinth is far more deadly than MDMA and the small amount of Cocaine I've tried.Markgway wrote:One line of cocaine or one ecstasy tablet can end your life. Obviously Cocaine can kill, but so can alcohol. Gas's point is right though, people don't consider alcohol (or nicotine) to be a drug.
WTF! I'm mentally feeble "because I've got drunk". Are you for real? It's just unusual for anyone to never have been drunk, even once. You and Romero are so fucking sanctimonious at times. Sorry Jesus.Markgway wrote:You're a fucking imbecile. Honestly.
People definitely do get addicted to to.grim_tales wrote:Can you even get addicted to chocolate? I guess you can.
