Bought my first car!

Post by IronMonkey »

Hey everyone, just wanted to say I'm happy because I bought my first car on Tuesday night!

It's not new - I can't afford a new one! It's an M registered (1994) Renault Clio BeBop 5 door 1.2L in red.

A bloke who literally lives round the corner from me was selling it on E-Bay, so I had a look at it and bought it. Got it for £550!

I spent all yesterday with my girlfriend cleaning it out and it has scrubbed up quite well to say the bloke who owned it used it for school runs for his 3 small kids.

I just need to replace the old tape player with an MP3 CD player and give the paintwork a good wax & use some "back to black" on the bumpers and dashboard, then the car will almost look as good as new.

I might post some photos later if I get the chance. :)

SO what does an M-registration mean?!
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

There's an M at the start of the number plate? ;)
I think every year they move up one letter of the alphabet? Or am I wrong? :)

Yeah, where do you guys live? M-reg basically means it was a 1994-made car. Its quite old but I'm not bothered as long as it gets me from A to B (A being my house, B being my girlfriend's uni house 1 hour away)...

Congratulations man. Drive carefully and watch out for crooked garages trying to rip you off, as there are many scummy assholes out there! (Saw a british tv show about car-owners being ripped off by bastards who were supposedly fixing their car...)

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

Right, see I thought it could be a car class for only two people or somesuch. These things vary across the world... this was just as cryptic as Toges ASs... ;)
