Those IMDB links are so annoying. It doesn't say what was cut, just "The Miramax version released in the U.S. in 2001 is severely cut from the original Hong Kong version". I'm sure I read it's uncut, it just has new subtitles and as you now say new score. I'll still give it a try. The story for me is less important, Oscar worthy this is not.

I bet that would cost a bomb though. There's a IVL Fortune Star DVD, so you never know. It's inferior to the HKL PE though.

It says "many of the cuts are made to the fight scenes themselves" but beyond that I dont know.

In addition to cutting and altering the narrative/character back story some violence has been censored for a PG-13 rating. Miramax can stick this up their collective arse.

Salty, are you going to pick it up? Hero's been changed and you bought that. As I said I'll be getting it. I dislike it too but it's such a fun film and frankly it's a martial arts film so I can live with it.

Not advertised so I'm not holding my breath...

That PS disc will be mine too (hopefully).
Mark, as the FS DVD set had Mono, why wouldnt the BD?
I'd be interested in the OUATIC Trilogy too

Perhaps because it's not listed by ddd and yesasia. And even if it was there, Joy Sales doesn't exacty have a good track record on providing quality audio..

They might have just listed the specs wrong. I'll wait and see though.
It would be a shame to miss out if there are no original tracks

It's great to see this, not because I give a monkey's about this release but because it means the FS DVDs are coming to BD. Roll on:
OUATIC Trilogy
Iron Monkey
WOTD

Would be funny if they really did have a Cantonese in/out of synch.
I'll see what the OUATIC release is like.

The latin subtitles is an unusual option for a HK release.

The in-sync track is of course a downmix, and the out-of-sync track is the original bass heavy bottle mono that was found from someone's potato cellar.
