Got delivered yesterday, had a quick flick through AoG2 last night and was astonished by the improvement in picture quality over the deltamac version I had before.jimmyscab wrote:make sure you update us on how the disc are
Much more detail and better definition in the darker colours, the cave scene at the beginning was a revelation !
Menus seem a bit simplistic and I only watched the Knockabout trailer (I keep meaning to pick up the Sammo boxset released a month or two ago), which had superb picture quality, but a bit of a rubbish trailer.
Packaging is the same as the Project A boxset, except the outer case is glossy, rather than matt.
Overall I'm very pleased and thinks it's well worthwhile CDWow's price.
(BTW, can the other thread giving the picture comparisons be merged as it seems a bit strange having two threads about this !

p.s - As for RCE it's only been deployed on R1 DVDs so far and a handful of one of batch of MGM JP R2 DVDs (it's no longer done though). It's a DVD Disc NOT DVD Player feature.
The DVD is told to check what region your player is and if it can play more than region 1 (Remember R0 actually means R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 & R6) it fails. It's now pretty much defunct as newer chips can get around it. It's only basic protection.
If you're bought a multi-region player in the last few years you're fine, older players you have to set your player to R1 only.
