Thanks for that lolbradavon wrote:I'd be surprised if it renders them useless but don't actually know.
I think that when people add milk and two sugars to tea, it's so far removed from what tea's supposed to taste like, and just tastes like milky sugar water. I like to taste my tea so I brew it the full recommended 4 minutes if it's black tea (green tea requires less brewing), and I just have the one sugar because it's meant to be sweetened a little.

Yuck! I cannot stand either with sugar. It turns them from a savoury to sweet drink.Markgway wrote:Both with one sugar.
Huh? It sounds nothing like milky sugar water.gasteropod wrote:I think that when people add milk and two sugars to tea, it's so far removed from what tea's supposed to taste like, and just tastes like milky sugar water.
Huh? You just said you're against sugar. Tea so isn't supposed to have sugar added to it.gasteropod wrote:and I just have the one sugar because it's meant to be sweetened a little.

Don't be annoying Brad, I put in one sugar because it's astringent. Lots of people put too much in in my opinion.

Wow, I'd never put the bag in for 4 minutes. Like I said, I like my tea VERY light. I can still taste what it's supposed to taste like, without it being WAY too strong.gasteropod wrote:Thanks for that lolbradavon wrote:I'd be surprised if it renders them useless but don't actually know.

I usually prefer green tea btw, with a hint of cranberries, ginseng, or lemon or something.
And I put a little rock-sugar in it (which is supposed to be slightly more healthier than normal white sugar, but I have no idea why...)

Surely it would stew in 4 minutes? It would be gross.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea#PreparationBlack teas are usually brewed for about 4 minutes and should not be allowed to steep for less than 30 seconds or more than about five minutes (a process known as brewing or mashing in the Britain,). It is commonly said that a steeping time above five minutes make the tea bitter (at this point it is referred to as being stewed in Britain)

Now I've bought a cantaloupe to try, it's not ripe yet though.
