I don't feel entirely comfortable speaking about Michael Jackson in a positive light (let's face it, he "probably" was a paedophile), however it is indeed very sad news. Jackson was so ahead of his time and his music was so brilliant. It's such a shame he never got to perform again. The world will be a lesser place without him.
We don't know that Jackson was a paedophile since he was never convicted of anything. It's all innuendo and speculation as far as I'm concerned. I think he was a victim or his own success and of scum trying to make money out of him. I believe he had a Peter Pan complex that made him more comfortable being with children rather than with adults whom he mistrusted. There's no concrete proof anything sexual ever took place... but mud sticks, right? At least they can't hound the man anymore.

That doesn't detract from how good his music was. Like Deniro, nothing of value really since Heat/Casino but boy he was good back in the day.

That's a fair point.
I also think, sure it's awful for his kids but they're probably better off not being brought up by him. I just cannot see Jackson being a good father or is that suitable father.
If Jackson was normal his kids would've likely been taken away from him.

That's harsh. We have no idea how he was with his kids behind closed doors. They're probably devestated... That said - although I'm sure he wouldn't have harmed his kids - there's no escaping from the fact that he was mentally unbalanced. I don't know if that - in other words his particular problems - prevented him from being a capable parent.

No shit, I was saying his death isn't a loss to music, because he gave all he had to give donkey's ago!
Clearly he was in need of mental help. He was abused by his father, said he never felt he was loved etc, yet he lived in Neverland
As you say we don't know he was a paedophile and it is not fair to say he was - he was acquitted and found not guilty of child abuse and that's that. He can't answer back now
The first point I sort of agree but we did see him dangle his young son over a balcony which was a silly thing to do. That wasn't exactly behind closed doors though, lots of people saw that.
Yeah but if you or I die the world doesnt end
I was sooooo sick of his music last night, every bar and pub thought it was good to play all his hits, damn they get on your tits without the videos!

If Bob Dylan had died in his 50s many critics would have said the same thing about him, but he brought his career around big time in his 60s. There's far more to a musician's career than just new material anyway, Jackson's world tours were still massive events within the music industry.
