Jackie Chan has completed shooting his newest project "Little Big Soldier", formerly titled "Junior Soldiers" or "Big Soldier Little General" already back in April. Only yesterday a first teaser, of the movie which is helmed by Underdog Knight - director Ding Sheng and set for a Hong Kong release in October, surfaced.
Chan describes the film as one of his dream projects. He wrote the script already 20 years ago, at that time with the intention to play "the little general". This role is now taken by Lee Hom-Wang (Lust, Caution) and Jackie instead takes the role of "big soldier".
The film is described as a sort of road-movie set in the Warring States Period and its main focus are black humor and drama, while conveying a positive peace-loving message. It is about an old soldier who by luck captures the young general of a hostile state and hopes to live a better live from the reward he wants to catch. The movie evolves all around these two characters, a horse and their journey and shall especially show beautiful Chinese landscape and again show a different character portrayal by Chan.
