Someday it is feasable that we will have cured the majority of the big killers, hiv, cancer, smoking, excessive drinking etc etc. It is something we strive for and slowly are achieving.
We are also advancing in the area of preventative medicine at an impressive rate meaning people are living longer.
All these factors will inevitably lead to a population explosion, less people dying and more people living longer. So what will happen when there simply is no more room for all the people? how will population control be dealt with, and is there in fact any humanitarian way of doing so? will our ongoing desire to remove all the things that kill us eventually prove to be our downfall??
once we've cured everything, what next?

Most probably a new disease will pop up, or wars will break out...
Also more and more people might be choosing a life without having kids, as is already happening a bit...
It's all a bit guess-work at the moment though... we don't know yet what nature has in store. Some reports say that western europe can get a massive blow in the face, when due to the warming of the earth, the hot stream from the golf of mexico that goes all the way up to scandinavia, dies down, perhaps even causing a new ice-age... and/or floods which will at least damage the countries near the coast, like Holland, Belgium, etc.
We have to see how everything goes with poverty, industry, economy. We might be seeing a massive migration-flood of people who will seek thei fortunes in booming China...
Ah well... a hundred years ago they also feared the earth was getting to crowded, and we're still managing... Besides, maybe in 100 or 200 years, we will have colonized other planets yet, or we might have floating cities (either on sea or in the air...).
We might even artificially make each and every human 20% of it's current size, thus making them take up less place, and thus having them eat much less...
We'll think of something, and if we don't... we don't.
There are more troubling things on my mind at the moment, like finding a decent Ong-Bak release
