Post by bradavon »

Here bloody here. Anyone who dies for a country deserves immediate citizenship. Before anyone says anything, you know what I mean. It's a disagree the British government didn't end this a long time ago!

I've signed. I hope everyone else does.

Signed.

The government are bunch of worthless pricks.

Maybe if The Gurkhas were Islamic terrorists claiming multiple benefits they'd get a better deal.

This country make me wanna puke.

They are Mercs working for pay, massive pay compared to what they get paid in their country, do we let all mercs in our country? hundreds of thousands of them work for the UK in some form right now killing in our name for cash, so well let them all stay here and get our benifits (which they never paid tax into)?

In theory yes, but it opens the flood gates for literally millions who have worked for the UK in the last 100 years, why let one lot in and not the hundreds of thousands of others.

Yes they are far higher up the food chain than the scum we let in now and the scum who live here and wont even work, but really they signed a contract, they were NEVER promised ever to live in the UK and retire here ever when they signed up, they did it for cash! only reasone they want to come here now is becuase its an easy place to get into and they know they will rake in cash.

Its nowhere near as simple as the dumb media is presenting it.

I didn't think you'd sign Mark, given that it asks for your postal details :). I didn't fill my phone number in. Maybe the postal details aren't compulsory either.

They're soldiers, not mercenaries. As usual Romero you're seeing things in an incredibly simplistic and naive manner. You have such a narrow view of the world. You really need to travel. I'm far from an expert myself but I know things are never that simple.

The Gurkhas fought FOR this country therefore I see no reason not to allow them to stay when 'we' pay out millions to immigrants who would fight (or supporting fighting) AGAINST 'us'. Get rid of the shitbags in the UK and there'll be more than enough room. And so what if they got paid? People in the armed forces now get paid. We're talking about foreigners who spilt their blood in our name and didn't have to. I don't see how it opens any floodgates to allow an older generation of brave soldier to live out the rest of their life on their own terms?

Exactly.

While I tend to disagree "generally speaking" with most on Britain's immigration policy (not in overall just the hard line approach). I completely agree here. They have more right to live here than many Britons. I'm chuffed the justice system (if not government) has finally seen this.

Agreed. They had to fight for this many times. It wasn't just given to them.

I thought there had had just been a vote in Parliament on this and Brown has been overturned, in other words they should stay. If the Gurkhas fight for Britain and defend and help our country why can't they stay in Britain? IMO.

Even the head of the british army said they are Mercs, so at least someone agrees with me  they are NOT fighting for the British, they are fighting for cash, shitloads of cash and the right to rule their own lands in their own country, which they get when they serve in UK army.

Imagine if we gave every UK soldier the right to rule their hometown when they get into the army :D mental.

They fight for money, not the Britsh army or Us.
They fight for cash and themself, not for us.

If I join the Foreign Legion do I fight for the French? only an idiot would think that, there is no difference.

Just like many in our UK army, bullshit if anyone thinks the majority fight for Queen and Country, they fight for cash, excitement or something to do other than the dole.

I'd imagine theirs an easier way to make money than join the army. Serious question, what do you mean by this? -

"and the right to rule their own lands in their own country"

For them to make cash in their country even close to what they earn in the British Army, well nothing pays more than joining the UK army, its like winning the lottery if you get in for them guys.

That odd "rule the land" thing is an strange one I heard on a radio discussion, and loked into it a bit more :) if they join up in the British army that guy then has the right to rule his home town as head/leader etc.. with that come privalages etc..

Its an different rule for us in the UK to understand, but I guess its a done thing over there. I cannot remember the specifics, maybe worth a google :)

Well, I'm glad a sense of justice has finally prevailed.

If they're good enough to bleed and die alongside The British Army, they're good enough to be allowed to settle here.
