Worst Movie franchises?

Post by saltysam »

As there has been some debate in the trilogy thread regarding crap franchises getting mentioned in a supposed best of thread, thought id start this to see what you reckon is the worst, most unecessary film series. off the top of my head i'll say The Howling series,an excellent first film followed by some truly dire sequels and The Children Of The Corn efforts which are pretty risible.

Hana to hebi. The first film I expected to be good, but it wasn't. Then I watched a few more film just to see how bad they would get. I don't suppose the franchise has ever produced anything good (although the Masayuki Asao film has its moments).

I like that film. Very cheesy but catchy still. I've only seen bits of Parts 2, not as good.

Actually I'm a 26 year old guy ;) And I reckon all the principle actors in HSM are above high school age. You don't seriously believe Zach Efron et al are 17 do you? ;)

And for me:

Starship Troopers is rubbish. It has no re-watch value IMO. I'd sooner sit and watch BR over it any day of the week ;).

I wouldn't say ALL of them are shit.... near enough though!!

Jason Lives was good fun (and employed irony a full decade before Scream).

But most of them are poor at the least. 1-4 are boring as hell for starters. A New Beginning was a marginal improvement from memory. The New Blood was a step backwards and Jason Takes Manhattan was competant but lame.

The New Line jobs were arguably even worse.
