Films you've rewatched often...

Post by saltysam »

Most movies are a watch once only deal imo however as we are all collectors here clearly there are films we want to keep and watch again.however i have films in my collection i haven't watched for many years though obviously i intend to. Which films (if any) do you love so much that you've viewed them on several occasions? Films i've seen an abnormal amount of times include
The Thing (Carpenter)
The Fog (Carpenter)
Assault On Precinct 13 ( Carpenter)
Halloween ( Carpenter)
Dawn Of The Dead (Romero version)
The Bruce Lee Movies (Big Boss the most i think)
Jaws
Crank
Dragons Forever
Police Story
The Shining
Wizard Of Oz (briliant film even now)
King Kong (original)
Numerous Sammo Movies

Looking at one of my shelf units (ones of many) quickly these spring to mind as very regular watchers :D

Starship Troopers

When I bought that on VHS back in the day, I watched it on a daily basis for about a fortnight hahaha

For me, any film is rewatchable and I've watched most of my films numerous times.

- Days of Being Wild. My absolute favourite movie in the world. Have watched it well over a hundred times, although the last few years not that much anymore (pretty much never)
- Fist of Legend: I never grow tired of this movie.
- Hard Boiled: Same thing. Awesome flick.
- Kickboxer: B-movie, but a great one at that. Cool music and training-sequences.

There are more, some I will just watch whenever they're on TV, like Groundhog Day or The Fugitive or Grosse Point Blank etc etc.
Others I've rewatched a lot when I was younger, like the older Jackie Chan movies, but now pretty much never.

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

More than 10 times
All Indiana Jones films

Close to 10 times
Kill Bill Vol. 1&2
Blade Runner
Taifu Club
The Killer
Azumi
You Only Live Twice

But almost all of that took place 3-15 years ago. Nowadays I don't even have time to watch all the new dvds I buy, so I rarely re-watch movies. But I do often re-watch scenes from movies.

I've seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Tiger about 3 times but tbh except for Blade Runner (about 6 times) and the original Star Wars trilogy I virtually never re-watch films. I can barely find time to watch films I've not seen, let alone re-watch movies.

I've seen others more than once but would only say Blade Runner an the original Star Wars as films I've seen "loads" of times (i.e - more than 3).

I'm shocked no one else has mentioned Star Wars. Didn't you grow up with it? In the UK Star Wars: ANH was on every Christmas for about 5 years.

I've never understood why Groundhog Day is so loved. I found it average.

Groundhog Day is a classic Brad, how can you not like it? :D One of Bill Murray's best performances :)

I do rewatch T1 and Alien, but nowhere near as often as the T2 and Aliens.

Groundhog Day is one the best comedies ever made.

For me I would say the James Bond movies are high on my rewatch list.

Enter the Dragon I've probably seen more than any other film (from the age of 10 when I first saw it).

Me too, me too. There's a load of them on Finnish TV every year.

I remember when I was maybe 12 and one channel showed all the Bond films within 3 weeks. So there was a Bond film on TV almost every evening. That was so great :D

That was only on ITV1 a few weeks back, easily one of the worst Bonds.

I really like A View to A Kill. Great fun, cracking soundtrack, awesome villians, and Fiona Fullerton in a hot tub. Can't belive so many bond fans bash it for copying Goldfinger whilst letting The Spy Who Loved Me off the hook for being an even more obvious copy of You Only Live Twice

I don't know anything about that but do know it's awfully cartoony, with really dumb pantomime villains. Yes more so than TND.

My fave soundtrack is probably Living Daylights, so 80s pop but I love it.

Alien and Aliens are so different that they can't really compared. One is a claustrophobic and highly atmospheric horror film, the other is a gung-ho action film.

I've always preferred Alien and think while Aliens is good it's also overrated too. There's no substance to Aliens at all.
