UK Tour Sold out:

http://www.batforlashes.com/latest_news ... _sold_out/

It's well worth clicking on this link, it has cool behind the scenes video too. The only place she was going to play locally for me was Bristol but that's this Wednesday, so very short notice.

Two Suns - Number 5 in the UK Charts:

Fantastic!

Nice road story/Mini Album taster Documentary here :)

Joshua & The Bat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUvC97sf ... L&index=16

There is a full length one coming soon. Probibly is going to be put on a special edition of the cd, so they can rip off the fans who bought the album first!

I am acctually suprised the new album has got that high. Suprised it even got in the top 50 never mind 5.

I am currently mulling over a write up of her gig, but got a large back log of concerts and acts to write up. I also have 300 photos go filter thru and work with in Photoshop, takes ages.

That's from the gig last week right? Cool photo, please post more.

I'm actually not that surprised. She seems to have a large following and the music is bloody good. She even (I presume personally) wrote on her Facebook fan page thanking fans.

Sounds ok for indie rock/pop. Reminds me a bit of Kate Bush but more commercial for todays market.

It's not indie rock at all, she's comparable to Bjork but more of a chamber music slant.

It doesn't sound like Pop Rock (if such a thing exists) or commercial at all but yes the follow up is a tiny bit more commercial than the first album. Personally I prefer the sound.

Have you check out the first album too?

Check out the video in the "UK Tour Sold Out" link. No Mainstream artist would ever dare use that many instruments.

Sweet, the funny thing is I was watching that programme last night and thought 'hmm I wonder if Bat for Lashes has been on here, she'd fit well'.

Jules has everyone ever in the history of music on his show at one time or another :D

Bat For Lashes seem to have got high in the album charts at 5, so I guess fans have bought that. The single has done fairly poorley, came in at number 56 or somit and moved up to 40ish, so shows you not too many new fans have tucked in.

Still I couldnt care less if only I had the album.

That's because the kind of people who are into her music will buy her album rather than a single, I haven't bought a single since I was like 10 lol.

I buy singles for one reason, you get songs not on the albums :D I have countless songs from many artists who most people will never ever hear, good stuff too.

A single you can pick up for barley nothing after a month or so, so if it has extra tracks its mine :D

I've not bought singles for eons either. Teenagers buy singles, end of.

If I want a song only on a single, I download it. Singles are a rip off and are very hard to get hold of nowadays. I don't count iTunes DRM shite.

So its a Rip off paying 50p for a CD with a few songs not on an album. You get a cd, box and not a crap download in sight.

Then your crackers.

I have probibly more Sheryl Crow single songs not released on albums, than she has released on her albums, many far better than the crap she now puts onto her albums.

Where can you buy CDs for 50p?

I doubt I'd still bother mind you when we're only talking 1-2 tracks and I can just download those. We're not talking the album here. I also live in a one bedroom flat and space is a concern.

I don't doubt what you say about B-Sides but you can just download them. Sheryl Crow's first three albums are excellent but the next three aren't half as good, way too poppy. Detours is certainly much better than her prior to albums but not a patch on the first three albums.

p.s - No offence but please spell probably correctly. It's literally an A instead of your I.

Ebay for starters, any shop after a few months will also have singles for almost nothing. I was buying singles from shops for 10p or 25p years ago, you just have to look.

and as for spelling, nope I am typing far too quickly and no way I will ever read and check it all as I have alwasy said I would rather post it than double check it all.

Like Brad, I download any B-sides rather than buying a CD single, I have enough CDs overflowing in my room without needing shitty singles taking up space too, and also they're a waste of time putting in the player and pressing play just for like 10 minutes of music.

I also buy some EPs, and they often contain B-sides which appear on singles.

Yeah I agree, the 'Louder Than Bombs' B-side/singles collection by The Smiths is as essential as their studio albums. I've wanted a Bjork one for ages, but since she's still active I could be waiting some time haha.

I'm only specifically talking about this one word :), especially when it's one letter difference.

Fair enough. As it's just a single I'd rather not bother and download them. It makes more sense to me.

Exactly!

Me too. Like you guys I'm still very much CDs all the way. It's a shame High Res. audio never took off but as it didn't, CDs definitely for me. I'll "never" pay to download music. I want to be able to hold the product and also a CD gives me best of all worlds:

I can play it in all my CD Players, including my car
Rip my own MP3s at whatever bitrates I use
No DRM problems

It is a shame. You can almost always find these on BT sites instead though.
