Nobody likes bad subs...
Some do.
Lol... I'm hardly going to burst into tears.
You made me cry :(.
I'd just sell the DD down the second hand shop.
I'm just thinking of you mate, but never mind, they won't know an NTSC R1 DVD :).

Second hand record store not a charity shop and I never pay that much for discs that I'm going to mourn the loss.

Talking out of my arse - 'Return To The 36th Chamber' is next, not 'Crippled Avengers'. 'Five Venoms' is still there.

Return is an OK film. Not up to the level of the others mentioned.

Speaking personally, we've had 3 Lau Kar-leung films to 1 Chang Cheh. No fair!

Hey,

My Young Auntie and Come Drink With Me will be released on UK DVD in June. I just found them on Play so no word on language (for My Young Auntie) or subs (for Come Drink With Me).

They've been told about the shit subtitles on these, the so-called 'mono' on 'Heroes Of The East'/'One Armed Swordsman' English dubs and I did say about 'My Young Auntie's language. Whether they'll act on them, I don't know.

What's wrong with the mono on Heroes of the East?

Ivan Drago reported that both film's English dubs suffer from slight tampering, though not as severely as their counterpart 5.1 versions.

Has anyone got King Boxer/36th Chamber yet?
I'll wait for news on CDWM.

Hopefully those 2 will be an improvement on the R3.

From the covers of the DVDs I saw, they look like DD ports? They even say DD at the top according to the pictures I saw on Amazon.
Hopefully the subs will be the same/better than the R3 which I thought were fine on KB/36th Chamber.

They are ports but hopefully with minor corrections.

No problems on the DDs for the Mandarin tracks

Can we have a Momentum vs DD vs IVL thread just to compare the facts about each release? :)

Subtitles on DDs are the same sub-par stuff that Celestial made. I wanted Momentum to re-do them, which is what they're doing. I look forward to the results.

I do hope the soundtracks are also sorted. Too bad they aren't allowed to do much else - interlacing still remains on extras, thanks to incompetant people working on these.

chen you are the only person I have ever seen on a message board slag a release based on interlaced extras. How will the Celestial management sleep in their gold satin sheets at night knowing they failed your demands!?!?

The term 'extra' not only means 'extra', but an element separate from the main feature - all to be treated equally (even if the quality of the source may not be good, you do the best possible). I don't think "slag" is the right term, "point out" maybe.

Some of you may not care, but I ask that you not make a sarcastic at me when I say about it. HK film releases are usually handled by amateurs and in this digital generation, there's no place for such crap standards anymore. You may not have the best sources available to you, but that is not to say you drop standards when processing them.

If you saw how '5 Fingers Of Death' trailer (on DD's King Boxer' disc) looks on my TV (unwatchable - it goes backwards and forwards), I'm sure some posts dismissing me would be retracted.
