it's like a white coating on it.it's took me a week to see my GP,showed the pharmacist it last week and he said fungal infection,go and see Doctor for medicine, took myself to the NHS walk-in centre who said it wasn't an infection and to use cordoysol mouthwash. So it seems pharmacist was right and nurse was wrong.romerojpg wrote:Is it visable? as that sounds nasty for yousaltysam wrote: to add to that i have a fungal infection on my tongue!

Ahhhh...so he was alright thenShen wrote:Actually, and sorry here comes my history training, the evidence suggests that Hitler did not set out to kill all jews in the beginning...some believe this but guess which historians? yep the jewish ones, however evidence shows the opposite...Yi-Long wrote:I'm not completely sure, but I believe that was indeed Hitler's intention, Brad. Don't tell anyone, but some even considered him quite the anti-semite.bradavon wrote:Yeah, yeah and Hitler didn't set out to exterminate all Jews.I'd probably end up in jail because as we all know this society protects criminals over victims.
1. no orders were ever given to kill all Jews, he asked his subordinates to 'solve the problem' it was they who came up with the idea, no paper trail has ever been found suggesting that it was planned from the beginning. That however could be a testament to his manipulation ad carefulness, pitting his subordinates against each other to impress him the most and win his favour.
2. the invasion of poland is a very telling event, divided into 3, one was reserved as a large ghetto, the other two were controlled by to officers, both were told to germanize the area. One of them took the genealogies of everyone decided who went to the ghetto and who was pure enough... the other just made everyone swear an allegiance of being german, despite if they were Jewish or Slavic, one the final solution began these people were still safe and considered german and escaped the gas chambers. If he cared so much about this he would not have allowed this to happen.
3. before the outbreak of WW2 in an attempt to rid Germany of jewish people he appealed to the governments of USA and UK and some other countries to allow the jews refuge, we all replied no, no way, despite it being made clear that if we refused then they would solve the jewish problem themselves in which way they could.
4. Germany did not have that many Jews in the beginning of Hitlers reign, however as he invaded Poland, Austria, France and Russia he gained around 3 million more Jewish people to his 'problem.' Historians suggest this increase of the Jewish population pushed the Nazis further towards the idea of the final solution
5. other plans were drawn up and considered as suggestions to the jewish problem, one such plan was exile to madagascar, but was deemed to be no viable due to the cost of transporting them there
6. Upon his pact with Italy he suggested to Mussolini to begin removing Jews from Italy as Germany was doing, however Mussolini killed very very few JEwish people instead exiling them to surrounding islands, Hitler never had a problem with this...
anyway... sorry this is just my history training but its a common misconception, of course we are only taught in school he wanted them all dead even though the evidence suggests otherwise, and many historians have written on the subject, and no 'holocaust deniers' but authors such as Kershaw and Farmer, the stance is officially known as the structuralist view.
I agree that his primary ambition wasn't to KILL every jew... he just didnt give a flying shit about their lifes and certainly didn't want them around.
Sorry to hear about your tongue, Salty. I thought we warned you about staying away from Toge's mom!?
Anyway, it seems you have the same problem as I have: lots of doctors mainly not having a clue.

@ Shen. That maybe true but he did have a hatred to everyone of (in his opinion) non-Arian descent, which meant the Jews were fucked, even if he didn't originally plan to exterminate them.
I also don't believe for a second he didn't know what was going on, even if he never said "kill all Jewish fuckers".
It is true he originally offered the Brits a deal: Leave the European Continent to me and you can keep your British Empire. Originally Hitler had high regard for Britain's Empire. Obviously we turned him down flat.

I never said he had no idea what was going on... i said that its possible he didn't order himself the extermination of jews
but allowed for it to come about by manipulation of his subordinates.
Actually he didn't hate all non-aryans, and indeed he often sent photographers to England to take photographs for his propaganda as there were more aryan looking people here... but he considered Slavs and Jews to be inferior. And seeing as he considered those only of germanic descent to be Aryan, it would figure then he would hate the brits, the americans, the japanese and the italians... and everyone else in between... instead he made pacts with the latter two. And admired the British Empire. Doesnt fit with the "hate all aryan" view. Hitler was not the first anti-semite, anti-semitism went as far back as Martin Luther when he split from the catholic church to create Lutheranism. Hitler followed on this line, with the influences of Wagner and Calvin also. ...funny how they all originated in germany though...
The offer that i mentioned was one he made to the UK and America and was not regarding his wish to have control of europe as i said, it was a request that the UK and the US allow refuge to all Jewish people who wished to leave Germany/Europe. Yet despite knowing the inevitable outcome both refused.
I am not saying Hitler was a good guy and you will never hear me say so, far from it, he was a megalomanic dictator who was ruthless and indifferent to suffering, HOWEVER one cannot ignore what he did for Germany, a country on the very edge of collapse, the worst rate of inflation, unemployment and poverty in Europe due to the treaty of Versailles and later the Wall Street crash, within a few short years he had raised it to be a superpower, unemployment was almost nonexistent , currency was stable and economy was booming, very very few leaders have managed to do this, despite their other, shall we say, less desirable tendencies.
The only thing that really gets me about history is the focus on Hitler as the ultimate evil, when next door was a guy (again with a weird mustache) doing even more atrocities and killing many millions more people, but is spoken less about and not considered bad. Stalin in my opinion was worse than Hitler.

Cheers Yi. I think part of my problem is the symptoms i have normally affect something like 80% women and 20% men,so they are dismissing it as unlikely without looking into it.Went for the blood tests today, the ones requested were so rarely asked for the nurse had to seek advice on what tube to put it in.i think this GP is going to have a go at finding out what's up.Yi-Long wrote:Sorry to hear about your tongue, Salty. Goddammit.... I'm having the very same problem Grim had a few weeks ago: when I log into BNB, and change to another site, and come back here after a few minutes, I'm logged out again....
And yeah, I did select the 'keep me logged in' tab.
edit: ow, and when I'm seemingly logged out, but click on the 'profile'button, I'm logged in again(!).

Went back to my doctors today for the results of my latest round of blood tests, she reckons they were mostly clear, my CRP inflammation marker which was around 200 at the time of my attack is now at 20. So still inflammation there but much less. I am sure she thinks i'm becoming a hypochondriac. But i know when i'm not right and i don't feel right. She is now going down the same road as my specialist, adopting a "we ain't sure what it is/was but let's hope it's gone away" approach rather than find out the cause. But i suppose if my bloods are ok it's hard for them to diagnose

Whenever doctors can't find anything clearly wrong with you, they assume you're just making it up or something, or are overreacting. It's extremely annoying when you're in pain and discomfort, and you get the feeling you aren't taken seriously.
Good to hear you're doing a bit better though.

My mother suffers from something called Coeliac Disease. Some of my symptoms tally with this condition. it can also be hereditary and apparently if a parent has it there's a 1 in 10 chance their offspring will as well. You look it up online and the advice is if you have a parent with it tell your doctor and get it checked.Told mine today-brushed it aside saying "let's deal with this problem first"..err maybe if i (hopefully not) have this disease then that is the problem!

It's funny how you sometimes have thing that work against you, and you suddenly realise that at the same time it's a plus.
I have trouble getting to sleep on time, and I have mediocre memory. So I tried getting to bed early tonight, and I'm lying awake cursing that I'm mulling over my life and that I can't stop myself from thinking about all that crap and that I can't fall asleep.
And so I feel 'awake', and suddenly you realise it's 12.30 AM, you feel very much awake for a few hours, you have bad memory, plus you have a nice collection of movies that you love, but because of that bad memory can watch over and over again and again while enjoying them as you did when you watched them for the first time. And suddenly you feel 'happy', wondering which movie you're going to enjoy again for the next few hours

Those largely go into three camps:gasteropod wrote:Well from all the bad stuff I've heard about Vista, I don't think its daylight savings notification would sway me![]()
1. Ignorance on how to use Vista. My App doesn't work but I've done sod all to work out why. In most cases ticking "Run as Administrator" fixes them, that's only one extra tick box to check.
2. Most people who hate Vista have never used or barely used it.
3. People expecting Windows to look like XP forever/resisting to change. What would the point of Vista be? If MS did this.
Yes I'll agree it's not as nippy as Vista (something W7 solves) but otherwise the vast majority of Vista complaints are unwarranted. When it first came out it had problems today they've all but gone away.
The truth is, it got such a bad name, Microsoft could fix every problem it had a launch and people would still stay away. A massive portion of the blame has to go to the hardware makers for being so utterly lax at getting drivers out on time. They had months to get them ready but few bothered.
There is, such as it's increased security and Instant Search but I won't get into this here. You could say the same about Windows 2000 (virtually identical to XP in every way) but there's no way most people want that any more.gasteropod wrote:(and yes I know subsequent updates have improved Vista somewhat, but there's still no point in me moving from XP).
Windows 7 btw fixes 99% of Vista's problems and adds loads of new "really useful" features, more than Vista has in fact. XP by comparison feels VERY old. Bring on Windows 7's release end of this year/early next year!
Sure if your PC works with XP then you could stick with it but those who downgrade form Vista to XP when buying a new PC (without even trying it first) are just ignorant idiots. Where I work it's our policy to sell PCs downgraded to XP. It's madness but I have no control over it. I have to use XP at work as our VPN hasn't had a required firmware upgrade installed to make it Vista compatible. I hate having to use such an outdated (nearly a decade old) version of Windows.
Those ignoring Vista are going to have a harder time upgrading to Windows 7. Windows 7 is greatly improved but it's Vista not XP under the hood.
