Maybe their summer releases aren't as succesfull as the movies they released later in the fall.
They used to release their movies late in the year, but changed that to summer I believe a few years ago (with Cars, Rattatouille and Wall-E), and I guess that maybe affected their boxoffice-figures a bit...
I love how they can take something that doesnt seem all that appealing at first glance (a movie about toys, a movie about BUGS, a movie about fish, a movie about a cooking rat, a movie about a robot that doesnt talk or shoot, etc), and just make it very interesting
When you first hear and see info about UP, it's about an old guy and a flying house. Your first reaction is naturally: what adventures can an old guy have? But then you see the trailer, and the interstion and his personality, and it's just awesome. The old guy immediately brings up memories of all your favourite pissy sarcastic negative old guys
Like Walter Matthau.

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...
