Lol, yeah. The theatrical cut is actually better than the director's cut.

Unfortunately on BD you can only get the DC.

I paid £3 for the Directors cut on HD DVD, so at least it was worth that price I guess

I thought Shoot Em Up was good; sure the script is non-existent but the action keeps it moving. I liked Owen's performance as the mysterious gunslinger, I think he played the role perfectly. There is also some really funny dialogue in the film, especially Owen's observations on lazy drivers.

I recently watched Cradle 2 The Grave again. When I first saw it at the cinema, I thought it was very disappointing. On dvd, I really enjoyed it. Jet Li is such a badass in it! I even found DMX to be less annoying than previously. The action scenes (although too short) were also easier to follow.

still it passes the time.

What a load of tosh?

Neither bootlegs (unless they're so bad they're unwatchable, as some but no means all are) or TV cropped versions will make you not like a film you simply dislike it. Needless to say I'd still say it was rubbish if I'd seen it on DVD.

The Prisoner (1967 first 5 episodes 4.5/5 - 5/5)
Always loved this series but never owned the complete set. Watching the remastered 40th anniversary boxset (in order for the first time) which on the whole is a brilliant release!

Streetfighter II animated movie (original Japanese version, English subs - 2/5)
Although it was nice to finally check out in its original form, the wait wasn't really worth it - the film is still excruciatingly slow and just a bit dull. Finally got it out of my system to watch it and put it to bed

Doctor Who - The Face of Evil (1977 3.5/5)
Brilliant fun and unusually intriguing plot for the era. Nice to see how Leela got on board

Happy Go Lucky (2008 3/5)
The sad state of British film. Nothing really to like here, a slightly disturbing young woman has some encounters with different people - the end. It's well made if that's a conciliation.

Paris Texas (1984 4.5/5)
Loved it. A bit more of a straight drama than I'd usually go for, but this was so beautifully made (and completely timeless) that it was impossible not to thoroughly enjoy.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2009 4/5)
Excellent fun and very well made, if a bit flat at the end. I'm sure it'll certainly go down as an American Classic. Shades of Forest Gump there for sure. I enjoyed it as the whole cinema experience but it's not a film I'd ever really want to own and rewatch, other than a Christmas day special

Just caught the end of Kickboxer... what a pile of cheesy nonsense!! Thought the end fight was hilarious... the bad guy kicks JCVD's ass while his brother is captured, but once he is freed the bad guy suddenly appears to forget how to fight!! Good old fashioned rubbish!

The end of Part 2 is even less believable.

Sasha Mitchell (who at that point couldn't fight) gets whupped for about five mins then after a Mr. Miyagi moment from Dennis Chan gets up and kicks Tong Po about 8-10 in a row (repeated shots from different angles) and wins.

I have a soft spot for the Kickboxer movies because even though they are cheesy they're much better than most of the like-minded kickbox dross. Except Part 4 which was just shit.

Bloodsport fairs better in the sequels
