That's their religion. They are the ones that claim to believe in that stuff.Markgway wrote:That's fucking cold.Yi-Long wrote:No big deal. His 'thetan' will just pick up another body and live again...
If you preach that BS when other people lose loved ones and mourn, you can expect to get that shit thrown back in your own face when disaster hits YOUR family.
I probably wouldnt have made the remark, if it wasnt for the fact that scientology feels 'disabled' people are better off dead btw, and the kid was 'autistic', thus partly 'disabled' in their view.
So yeah, I did feel bad about making the remark, cause it is indeed fucking cold and harsh, and mean-spirited... but it's the stuff those people/that religion would say to me if one of my loved ones would die.
(enter Brad on his white PC horse to once again rip my post apart and out of context...)

Cold? I can understand it might be a big deal to his family etc but it's no big deal to me, certainly not news worthy anyway.bradavon wrote:I don't know anything about or frankly care about Travolta's religion. His son is still dead and to say that's no big deal is, as Mark says cold.
Should I sympathise/care because the person that passed was the 'son' of a celebrity?

No-one says Travolta doesnt feel any pain. WE dont know the kid. So yeah, bad news for Travolta, and I'm sure he feels real shitty right now, but no-one here really knew the kid, so obviously we feel a bit sorry for John, but we dont feel any 'personal loss'.grim_tales wrote:Come on Tigger, that's harsh tooJust because John T is a celebrity doesnt mean he feels any less, he had a family and loved his son who died, was taken from him
Did you not feel anything when Brandon Lee died? He was only "Bruce Lee's son", you know, same thing....
I do think it's news-worthy, simply cause it's Travolta, but TBH, at the moment, I feel more sad about all the Palestinians. Palestinians, who I'm sure Travolta doesnt give a shit about.

It doesn't matter whether or not you feel Travolta's son's death is "newsworthy". Fact is the man has lost his son and that's something no parent regardless of their religion should have to suffer. You can feel for both Travolta AND The Palestinians. It's not a fucking competition to deem who is most worthy of sorrow. To sympathise is a normal compassionate emotion. Something some here seem oddly incapable of. There's a real mean streak runs thru this forum sometimes and I really don't like it.

I never said i could not offer sympathy for a fellow human being who has suffered such a loss. All i commented on is that it's no big deal to me. All i have done is apply a bit of common sense and rationale to the situation, i never knew (or heard of) the guy and as such i feel no personal loss. You would think the guy was your BFF the way you are harping on.
For me, the only "newsworthy" aspect of this is Scientology and i have refrained from commenting on this due to it being poor taste.

Who says I dont feel bad for Travolta? Ofcourse it sucks for any parent to lose a kid. It sucks for any person to lose a loved one.Markgway wrote:It doesn't matter whether or not you feel Travolta's son's death is "newsworthy". Do you expect anything less from Tigercage?grim_tales wrote:Come on Tigger, that's harsh too
He's constantly shown he has no heart for anyone except himself, regularly going off on some massive vile and repugnant rant.
I agree with Mark. Of course no one here really has feelings for his son (isn't that obvious?). It doesn't mean you cannot show sympathy for Travolta's loss.
