Activists guilty of hate campaign

Post by bradavon »

Four animal rights activists have been convicted of orchestrating a blackmail campaign against firms that supplied an animal testing research centre.

During a six-year campaign the group falsely claimed managers of the companies were paedophiles. They also sent hoax bombs parcels and made threatening telephone calls to firms telling them to cut links with HLS.

One of the features of intimidation included sending used sanitary items in the post to the firms and daubing roads outside managers' homes with words like "puppy killer".

What the companies do can be disgusting IMO but this is so not the response. All they've done is give animal righters defenders who stay within the law a bad name.

Yeah, this is not the way.

I'm not saying you should always stay within the law to do good, but THIS (accusing people falsely of peadophilia and sending hoax bombs etc (or real bombs for that matter)) isnt really the right way to get the message across.

Unfortunately Animal Rights Activists are often extreme in their views/actions and give moderate animal advocates a bad name. I HATE the idea of animals being experimented on and would make it against the law. But as has been said: Abuse, violence and threats aren't the answer.
