The Scorpion King aspect ratio

Post by gasteropod »

I'm in the middle of watching The Scorpion King, and it is in 1.85:1 on the HKL DVD, but on IMDb it says it is 2.35:1 - does anyone know which is its correct aspect ratio?

Thanks

It's a 1.85:1 film. IMDB is wrong. The HKL DVD is actually cropped a fair bit to around 1.70:1

The IMDB isn't terribly reliable for that kind of info.

Thanks - oh I'm sad to hear it's slightly cropped, but nevermind - hey I enjoyed the film anyway! Great fight scenes :D

I love that film! Its just so refreshing to see something completely different when it comes to the fight choreography! Of course, it wouldn't work in real life, but hey its a fantasy film! :)

The cropping ain't that bad but should have been avoided. It's only noticeable when you compare it to Fortune Star's DVD

Yes its a top film and came out of nowhere for me, very underated stuff.

IMDB is wrong pretty much most the time in most departments.
