I noticed there's a new R2J release. And I think this is on JS non-remastered list, too. Anyone seen the film? Comments?

Never seen it. Would like to, but I'm not really willing to spend money on the lousy PAL-NTSC transfers these have been getting

Would be nice if someone in R1 or the UK did em justice!

Mark do you know what was cut from tne film/why?

I don't know what was cut but I do know why.

Film was made by an indie outfit in 1973 and banned by the censors who were clamping down on violence at the time.

Two years later and John Woo had made a film for Golden Harvest called The Dragon Tamers so they bought this indie film, re-cut it, and re-named it The Young Dragons. The original dir's cut has never surfaced... until now perhaps?

I believe it's violent cuts possibly re-instated and not the presentation of a new version of the film.

I believe I said it was for violence.

Also the use of needles or some kind of bladed glove had to be removed I think. I haven't seen the uncut version, natch, so just trying to remember what I read.
