R1 is interlaced, others are progressive.
BD-UK, R2UK & R2FR are the Fade to Black version.

The two time I havee seen SFLV it has been in full colour; and colour is definitely important to the film, however, when taking these caps I saw how the darkness made the film feel even more atmospheric towards the end. So perhaps that's of more import than all the attention lavished upon colour and design.
As to BD vs. DVD, well I think the colours of this German BD have been boosted and for a BD-25 VC-1 transfer it doesn't look too impressive. But the R2UK DVD is a completely EE'd mess, and mine is one of the ones that is dramatically out of synch, and with Tartan bust there is no hope of replacement. The original R2UK (full colour) is NTSC>PAL so I didn't bother tracking it down.
Tom, if you add more caps then #8 is the only nuisance, last frame of a shot but if you watched it first you can easily get to a point where you only have to tap for a couple of frames. I just liked it.

Done.
French transfer is brighter and sharper than the R2UK.
It's also less contrast-boosted (see cap 5).
Unfortunately it's got a lot of EE too.
The german BD is the winner by default IMO, but it still doesn't look quite right (see the colours in cap 7).

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Added the HK and UK BD's. The HK & DE look very alike, and the UK BD being the Fade to Version obv. looks rather different.

Thanks. The UK BD has really dull colours. That's wrong, right?

No, that's the palette of that version it seems.

Thanks. So the FTB version has duller colours, weird. The UK BD is the one I'd pick up. I hear it has a decent transfer, unlike ATOTS.
