Batman is being all morally righteous. Why else would he allow himself to be the villain?

That I was able to believe. But surely his love for Rachel would've surpassed any feelings of self-righteousness? That's one of my probs with this incarnation of Bats - they've turned him into a self-righteous saint. At the end of the day he's human and I want a more human response. I think that's more interesting and believeable.

He is. There's that section when he ties up that guy to a chair and Batman has to stop him.

That's not evil. He's doing what he feels he has to to protect the one he loves. That's righteous in my book. Would you let Rachel die just so you could feel better about not torturing a suspect you know has the info to save her?

It's a movie. It's not played out in real-time .

Near enough in story context. The entire film plays out in a short period of time. A matter of days.

Of all the superhero films "that's" your favourite. It's so average.

Maybe my favourite. I can't be sure. But it's one of them at any rate. I like the way it succeeds at doing what it intended to do. It's lively, stylish and fun. It's not deep but as you would say - it's from a comic. Having said that I fully appreciate that the Batman films are more ambitious and I recognise they're quality. You're making it sounds like I disliked The Dark Night - I didn't. I liked it - just perhaps not as much as most here.

It's completely illogical too. Out of the millions of people in Gotham City, they due to save the criminals first. Again it's a niggle though, in otherwise fantastic film.

And there's no way at least one fucker wouldn't have pressed the button.

Just seen The Dark Knight for the second time at the cinema tonight...

Loved it.

Saw it today

Bit too much in areas but on the whole very impressive. I found Ledger good but a bit too reserved; he makes a fine psycho but the JOKER part is not utilised enough; when it is, it's done very well. Two Face was handled well, with good makeup. Scarecrow was again badly used

But as with the previous film, it is Batman, Gordon and the other heroes, badly underused in the 90s film, who make the film work. Though Bale's gravel is rather silly at first, you kinda get used to it

I don't see this as the life chaging masterpiece some claim. It's too ordinary and flawed to really do that. But for what it is, it's a fine film.

I didn't find The Joker reserved and he was utilised quite a lot IMO. Scarecrow was just a cameo, as a nod to the first movie. It worked in that sense.

For me it's so much better than most superhero films and for that alone it should be praised.

I meant the Joker aspect of his character wasn't utilised enough. It is a fine performance of menance and madness though
