i'm not so into american action films.
Seagal's cinema films were good, before he sank into DTV depression. You know it's only a matter of time between each bad guy getting something snapped.

America has produced some great action films... Die Hard, Cliffhanger, Total Recall, etc...
I have seen most of Black eagle, the only remotely cool part was the splits between the two barrels...
That's pretty dull actually. More of a Sho Kosugi movie. The final duel was a letdown.
Hard Target...hmm the trailer seems familliar, not sure if i've watched it or not, but i dont really like gun play movies, unless like shoot em up, they are taking the piss of gun play movies
It's not tongue-in-cheek, granted, but it's beyond cool, I promise. Haven't seen Shoot Em Up yet. I laugh when critics praise mahogany-like Clive Owen, yet slag off the obvious more charismatic Van Damme. It seems it's only fashionable to pick on certain actors, especially if they have "an accent".
i'm more of a martial arts fan when it comes to action, and fights that are visually interesting to watch, not just guns and straight recycled from the last 30 movies combat
I hear that. Thing about John Woo though is at his best his gunplay can be as exhilirating as any Kung Fu fight. Hard Target becomes almost like a ballet of bloodshed at times.
