I was just saying that this 1:78:1 thing that's happening with recent titles could be the same reasons as why HKL did it.

Yes only 3 times, not many at all, compared with the entire number of titles they released.

And at least one of those 3 was probably the last chance to get a restored, oar dvd on the market. a lost opportunity.

Yep. That was Legend of a Fighter.
And how many decent DVDs have they released? 5 or 6.
Not a good ratio.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

5 or 6 :?. Way more IMO. Many are still world best titles. How many did they release in total? A rough number will do.

It is a shame about Legend of a Fighter but you could blame other studios for not even picking it up just as much.

blame other studios?what bollocks.HKL had a great looking print of LOAF ,ruined it by cropping it and then had years to rectify their fuck up,which they never did. and you want to blame other studios? do you know how hard it is to find even a watchable print of seasonal titles?

No, like I said, I'm blaming HKL just as much too. HKL don't and never did own the world-wide rights to LOAF.

That's a few times recently 2.35 films have been cropped.

The Banquet, Blood Brothers, and now Fatal Contact.

WTF's going on...?

It sucks doesn't it. Thankfully DD have released both The Banquet and Fatal Contact in fine form anyway.

Which Blood Brothers release?

There are still fools who don't understand that 2.35:1 films are meant to be seen with borders on widescreen TVs. They simply can't get their heads around the fact that their TV isn't as wide as the film they are watching, I've tried telling people myself and they just don't get it. Unbelievable.
