New Asian Movies, nobody watch them anymore? JP SK

Post by Godzooki »

Does nobody here watch recent SK or JP movies anymore? HK has punted out some cracking films in recent years and there is already a lifetime worth of HK classics available however for me there has been little or no interest/discussion in anything recent from anywhere else from any forum member, why is this???

I know there is a massive slowdown in the SK market but has everybody really lost interest in cinema outside HK and domestika?

I've always relied on you guys (plus other forums) to weed out the shite :D. There's too many films and not enough time to watch them all 8).

Thats becuase as said on the other thread when you asked the same question, the quality has dropped out of the asian film market, they make mostly shit now compared to a few years back. CGI shit and buckets full of it.

Still hopefully some masterpiece will come along which I would love, I hold out hope as Asia is one big place!

Presumably you mean the Far East Romero? There's not much discussion of Middle Eastern or South Asian films.

There are still some gems made. Mongol was decent.

Maybe you're too picky then. Decent is still decent, in my book.

Well I have not seen one 5 star film this year, so I guess that maybe so.
Barley any even pass 4 stars.

Asian film wise, lucky if I have seen one that has been 3 and 1/2 from me, many way lower.
