Bugger. First HKL, now Tartan :(. This is such sad news.

Say what you will, but at least they actually released the films on BD. Medusa cropped The Banquet to 1.78:1. Tartan never did that.

I better pick up The Proposition and Oldboy soon. I doubt Tale of Two Sisters and Lady Vengeance will come now :(. I cannot see any other company releasing them on BD any time soon.

Cheers Mr. Monkey.

I'd wait for the Eureka MOC Mad Detective BD. Their range so far has been outstanding.

Lots of pages of stuff here which I'm not wanting to read through, but I've only recently jumped on the HD bandwagon - i.e. I bought a cheap HD-DVD player today. Still waiting for my HD TV. But are there any asian film HD DVDs which are really must haves?

Fearless (theatrical version) is a fantastic looking hd-dvd. Enter The Dragon, obviously. off the top of my head can't think of many others, nearly all asian hi-def releases have been on blu-ray.

It's "Johnnie". With an "i" and an "e".
But thanks.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

SPL = Excellent! I'll pass on Seven Swords.

SPL Spec. - http://www.deltamac.com.hk/eng/e_detail ... &format=BD
Seven Swords Spec. - http://www.deltamac.com.hk/eng/e_detail ... &format=BD

Is Seven Swords the first BD50 used in HK?

Any idea which cut it will be? And if the extras will have English subtitles.

The strange thing is that YesAsia states the same running time (127 min) for the DC, the special edition DVD and the upcoming Blu-ray release.

According to IMDB the running time is 126 mins so either the DC is only 1 minute longer or the original DVD is really 126 mins not 127.

Must be a misprint.
Even the cut mainland chinese version is closer to 115 minutes.
