Excellent cover art, yeah.

The Cinemalta Tanaka and Konuma doubles are coming in July, finally. I'd post in the exploit thread, but I'm having a Toei page :D

Highly unlikely, Grim. It's HK Vidéo, after all.

Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Miracles happen these days. One of Toei's June dvds has english subs...

... although the explanation seems simple. The film in question is not a Toei production, they only distribute the dvd.

Great news, but I fail to see what this has to do with French DVD releases?

Finally a good reason to update the title of this thread:

Fighter in the Wind is getting a Blu-Ray release in France on August 27th.
No specs or cover art yet. All I know is that FITW is a Fox-Pathé-Europa title.

Fox would mean DTS-HD MA and if we're lucky extras.

Running Wild (I think that's a korean thriller with Kwon Sang-Woo in the lead and a Kenji Kawai score) is getting a Blu-Ray release in France on August 20th.

Found it on Amazon.fr

I don't even know who's releasing it, but the release date is already set.

Shadowless Sword is (finally!) being released in France on DVD.
August 21st, TF1 Vidéo.

Come on, TF1. Give us a Blu-Ray release to go with it and I'll be the first to buy it.

Did Sony release the HD-DVD? I presume, no English subs.

There's something wrong with that sentence.
I'll let you figure out what it is. :D

Yep.

It contains both the US and the HK cut.
Both should feature a cantonese soundtrack and forced french subs.

Why are the French subs forced? (I'm speaking generally here) I mean, hardly any UK or US DVDs of HK films have forced subs

Because French studios are wankers.

Why have contractual forced subs in just Germany and France as practice?

Why would the US cut feature a Cantonese track? Didn't even think there was one?

Don't know, Mark. Just repeating what I've read.

The Swordsman Trilogy has been released, courtesy of HK Vidéo.
The full trilogy has been reviewed here:
http://www.dvdrama.com/rw_fiche-10086-.php

Good PQ, good audio, no extras.
-Swordsman doesn't have the HKL's yellow tint.
-Swordsman 2 doesn't seem to be contrast boosted (same print as the Optimum R2UK, possibly).

Will buy Swordsman 2 and make a comparison.

www.filmsactu.com has reviewed the Swordsman Trilogy.
I'm gonna steal a few of their caps and post them here (hope they won't mind).

Looks fairly decent to me, especially part 2.

I'd say it does, yes.

As soon as I get the HK Vidéo, we'll be able to do a proper comparison between all three versions (R2UK, R3HK remastered and R2FR).
