Can you notice the difference? I never can.

You'll love HD then. Virtually all discs run at the correct speed.

If you've either perfect pitch, or you've got both to compare :).

DD always get their flagging and speeds right on the film itself.
Virtually all discs run at the correct speed.
NTSC ones, yep I believe so :).

There's no such thing as NTSC/PAL in HD ;).

I meant as in speeds. Doesn't 50i/25p occur in countries like the UK? My teacher told me that 25 exists (I think), but I wasn't fully convinced.

EIV in the UK often use 1080i/50 (instead of the industry standard 1080p/24), if that's what you mean.

How do 36th Chamber and Last Hurrah compare to the exsisting discs?
Brad it just sounded like pure NTSC as the pitch of the Shaw theme at the start was lower than I remember. Werent some of the early Celestials NTSC-PAL? Even if CDWM Celstial was not, the DD still beats it.

Last Hurrah HKL has better subtitles, whilst the Dragon Dynasty one has better extras.

'36th Chamber' is far better than IVL with it's proper progressive NTSC video and mono options, but still suffers from shit subtitles.

I think James said somewhere that HKL Last Hurrah mono is out of sync.

So's the mono on the HK Vidéo of Last Hurrah.
There's a 2 second (!!) delay during the final fight scene.

Aren't most of the Celestial/IVL releases non-anamorphic? If so it makes any future DD releases automatically better IMO. I can put up with a lot if the DVD is anamorphic.

I cannot stand non-anamorphic, above pretty much anything.

I meant can you notice generally speaking? I guess you can.

A few of the IVLs were non-anamorphic. What's worse is that every single one, even the recent 'HD' titles, were PAL-NTSC

I presume you mean DVDs mastered in HD? Not HD titles.

I thought the subs on 36th Chamber were fine TBH. Well I may upgrade 36th Chamber, dunno.

Thanks Ricky.

It's a shame Yeoh and Li aren't involved, especially when Ratner is. He's never even worked with either of them.

Ratner...Jeff Imada.......can't win all the time. I only care about the movie.

BTW, Jeff Imada has nothing to do with the Tai Chi Master DVD. I was referring to his appearance on HKL's Fist of Fury PE DVD.

Wow. Shit extras.

Ratner has never worked with Jet Li or Michelle Yeoh or Yuen Woo Ping.

Who died and made him the authority?

Wasn't Ric Meyers available?

Those extras sound very HKL-ish ;) (Not necessarily in a good way). I mean Brett fucking Ratner???
