Tokyo Decadence

Post by HungFist »

Another company gives it a try... the old US dvd is very poor, and the more recent UK dvd a total disappointment. The Korean disc is apparently cut. FR should be fine, while the anamorphic Nordic released seemed like a conversion.

It's still the 112 min cut. Apparently the 135 min cut was shown once or twice somewhere around 1992. There has also been talk about the Chinese vcd (not the HK vcd) featuring this version but I have never never ran into anyone who would actually own or even have seen this vcd.

It's been a lifetime since I saw this film but I'm recalling it being good. The soundtrack by Ryuichi Sakamoto is at least.

A new 35mm print is going to tour Japan next year. It's been booked to a couple of theaters in Tokyo and Osaka at least. It's the same 113 min version, but at least print quality should be great.
