Carling Cup - Quarter Finals onwards

Post by Laevolus »

Here's the draw after tonights matches

Watford v Portsmouth
Tottenham v Liverpool
Fulham v Chelsea
Manchester Utd v Arsenal

Clear what the BIG tie is, really, but thew others could be interesting. Could this be Tottenhams only chance for silverware this season?

Eitherway, I can see it only being one of the big three taking it.

Sure am looking forward to the Man U - Arse match, good to get that one at home, I think :D

Bah, not again :D
Nah, you're right Laev should be a good game, the Arsenal youngsters have done well so far :) :D
Did Man U mostly play with young players against Palace?
I watched Chelski v Newcastle last night and it was a pratically a league game really (they were playing full strength sides, AFAIK) :)
When is the Q/F played? :)

Well, both Untied and Arsenal have played under strength teams so far, but they usually start to go for it if they reach the quarter finals, so we may get a proper match, although it depends on other factors as well, like europe, premiership, injuries, that kind of stuff.

Personally I think Arsenal will be out for blood after we beat them, so it should be a good match.

We didn't field all kids last night, more the back up players, such as Tim howard, Louis Saha, John O'Shea, as well as some of the youngsters. I reckon Howard would have felt good to keep a clean sheet as well.

Q/F are played Nov 30/Dec 1, I'm hoping the match will be on TV as well.

I didnt see the game last night unfortunately, though Arse lost, they must have done really well to only concede one goal at OT because they were only fielding the youth team :D The goal came so early as well (unfortunate mistake by the keeper though), so thats no mean feat.
Well done though, you deserved it I think Laev, your side had more experience than us :)
Do ypu play Chelski now?
