I think that was the highest punishment he could get, and the prosecution said that an example must be set to others because of Snipes fame.

Yup he got 2 years a week ago. He tried fighting it for 2 years, in the end he has zero chance and they smacked him down, he got off light it seems mind you, so 2 years he should thank himself lucky.
